A few years ago, when Sora got revealed for Smash Bros, YouTuber HMK said something that resonated with me. "Remember, never stop believing. Whenever people look to you to kill your hype, and your hope, you look back and say "No", and you keep believing. Because sometimes, when you shout your wishes into the void, the void will look back at you and smile". Sora was considered impossible for Smash Bros as people believed that Disney would never let Nintendo use one of their characters for a fighting game. Some say that since Smash is a Video Game Celebration, and that Sora regularly interacts with Disney characters who come from movies, so that hurt his chances too. Guess what, he made it in. Smash Bros has a history of including "impossible" characters Cloud Strife, Banjo & Kazooie, and even Sonic himself. Sora once again proved that the Impossible can come true. This quote stayed with me, not for my own Smash Bros wishlist (still waiting on Dante and Shantae), but other things. That brings me to Sally. For many years, you had people telling the fans it can't happen. People who dislike Sally for one reason or another. Some saying that she isn't canon. Some believing that Sega doesn't own her. Some being the Sonamy fans who hate the competition. Sally fans were told it was never going to happen over and over like a broken record. For some reason, just saying that you'd like to see Sally, even as a small mention will just trigger this toxic nature in them, because they hate the idea of someone having fun for some reason. I hate to generalize but this is a pattern I recognized. I say this. To you Sally fans who think it can happen, keep believing. Ignore those who just want to kill your hype. For them, the satisfaction comes from that rude behavior, so don't let them have that satisfaction. Sally returning is a long shot, but not as impossible as people believe. Sticks is proof of that, Oswald returning to Disney is proof. People will move the goal post over and over, but as far as I'm concerned, they're just one announcement away from eating their words.
