And we appreciate the opportunity/engagement! Rural Ontario is full of opportunity and we need unique enablers to help solve our greater housing crisis.

Always grateful to hear from representatives from the Township of Whitewater Region at the #AMO Conference.
We discussed remediation of former #Mine sites and opportunities for municipalities to repurpose existing infrastructure.

Went to Arnprior Ag Festival opening ceremonies and got to meet the Ag society president and Mayor McGee. So incredible to see these Ag Society events here and in Beachburg, Cobden, & Renfrew, they reinforce how ag is a huge part of our communities and our ec dev.

Thank you Minister Cho @RaymondChoPC and PA Wai @DaisyWai_ for your support of our rural seniors and our efforts to create a hybrid Seniors Active Living Centre. We appreciate the Seniors Community Grant, it will be used to help our rural seniors. @WhitewaterRegio @ROMA_Ont
Thank you PA Sandhu @sandhuamarjot1 for your input into plans to invest in roads to support Whitewater Region tourism and for advice into plans for active transportation on old rail beds. Thank you for investing into rural cell and broadband. @WhitewaterRegio @ROMA_Ont

“It’s time now for a discussion on needed reforms to municipal finance to finally grant municipalities the revenue tools they need.”
Indeed, it’s well past time. We need a serious conversation among all orders of government. Cities are ready. thestar.com/opinion/editoria…

This is VERY interesting — imagine if every decision-maker in YOUR city, elected or appointed, was required to experience just a small taste of what it’s like to be a bike-rider on badly designed, unsafe (aka typical) roads?

Great article that should be read by everyone running for municipal office…

Beachburg Road is getting some sorely needed repair. You will see a resurfacing taking place over the next weeks on Beachburg Rd. This is a County road and they will be adding a 1m hardened shoulder. A welcome upgrade to the bikes, pedestrians and other users. 1/2
I will continue to advocate for paths and hardened shoulders and signage that makes our roads safer for all forms of transportation. #nicholsonforwhitewatermayor
Feeling much better and got out for some fresh air, put out the last of the signs. Big thanks to my Mom and Dad visiting from Alberta for the help! #nicholsonforwhitewatermayor
A shot from last night’s @themuskratwatershedcouncil Mtg. It was a hybrid mtg so I could join from home and keep from spreading my cold. Incredible to see what this mighty grp of volunteers can do. Community grps like this are a priority for me. #nicholsonforwhitewatermayor
An update….I’m sick, like in bed sleeping last 72 hours sick. Drinking lots of water and taking Tylenol Cold. I have had to put campaigning on hold but will try to do some phone and virtual meetings now that i have some energy. Thx everyone for the support.
What a great evening tonight with the 37th anniversary of the Whitewater Historical Society. Thanks so much to President Janis Tomkinson and her wonderful team for everything they do to preserve and share our proud history. Thank you!
I want to hear from our community. Stopped in at Annie's Gas Bar & Variety in FF. Annie and Harry are gathering feedback on four key needs for FF. I love this. This is the kind of input Council and staff need for consideration. Thank you. #nicholsonforwhitewatermayor
Ugh! No cell reception again. There are still so many dead zones in WWR. We have commitments from Prov and sites approved for towers, but when will towers come? We need to have strong advocacy. I will work hard to ensure our voices are heard. #nicholsonforwhitewatermayor
