The small local hospital was overwhelmed; patients were stabilized then transferred via dozens of ambulances, aircraft and medical support. As of Oct 21, 27 remain hospitalized, 13 critical. WAINWRIGHT STANDS WITH YOU ❤️ Yesterday, we said goodbye to our soldiers as they departed Wainwright following last weekend’s tragic training incident. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by this tragedy. To everyone who stepped up, offered help, showed compassion, and supported our community during this difficult time — thank you so much for your service and kindness. You know who you are, and your efforts will never go unnoticed ❤️🙏 In times like these, we are reminded that the strength of a community lies in the people who stand together when it matters most.

Here is a timeline of events from the MCI at CFB Wainwright. It was a normal Saturday just like any other. Shortly before four o'clock there was a "CODE ORANGE" that had echoed throughout the halls of the hospital. I went out front to see what all the commotion was and there was a military vehicle with no doors or windows sitting in the parking lot. I knew at this time that things were about to pick up and it was about to get catastrophic around here. After that, there was a white military SUV that dropped off two casualties. Next was the military truck (HLV) carrying in at least five severely wounded to the point where they needed to be put on stretchers because they could not walk themselves. Now the four military ambulances came rolling in with medical personnel ready to go. They were taking everything from stretchers and gurneys and manual wheelchairs to the front emergency entrance to help who was coming next. After the military ambulances was the military pickup with the wounded soldier that ran by me in his underwear. Yes, he "ran" by me in his blue underwear. His pants were shredded to tatters. His legs were severely burned to the point that they were yellow. I could see the burnt skin on his wrist as he ran by me. These were just some of the things I was witness to for the next twelve hours. Hug your loved ones and be safe out there for we know tomorrow is not promised. I will be here at the hospital to help the wounded anyway i can when they come here. For I know about denial and depression and even worse thoughts. Failure is not an option. There is a reason and a mission and a purpose for each of us being here. Take care of one another ❤️ (You can also see the manual chair & another chair out front to receive the wounded) – at Wainwright, Alberta

Earliest known recording from the emergency entrance at the Wainwright hospital. MCI from CFB Wainwright. Recorded at 4:06 p.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2026. At the 23 second mark you will notice the wind gusts to the top right of the screen. (I also commented on the wind more than once, so i hope that helps) By this time the "CODE ORANGE" had already echoed throughout the halls. Little did i know the sights, sounds or smells i was about to witness for the next 12 hours. *I was told a bomb had went off, remember, these are THE earliest reports. (Also included is a satellite view of where I was sitting during the MCI and where the airbourne operations were taking place) The numbers so far: 4 K.I.A. • Sgt. Morgan Wong. • Pvt. Shaun Farrell. • Pvt. Aidan Goulding. • Pvt. Hayden Lykkemark. 19 Remain In Critical Care. 8 Were Intubated. Casualties Sent As Far As Regina, SK 573 Km (356 miles) Away. 30 Emergency Services Were Called In: • 20 Ambulances. • 1 Medical Bus. • 9 Airbourne Units. Flares Were Constantly Going Up Throughout The Night. Medical Paratroopers + Search & Rescue Were Landing In The School Football Field And Bringing Medical Supplies. S.T.A.R.S. Air Ambulance + Others Were Used To Transport The Wounded. The Helicopters Didn't Stop Until 4 a.m. Sunday Morning. I know because I witnessed this first hand, I live at the hospital 💯 So many lives impacted forever... *Quote from the Mayor of Wainwright, Bruce Pugh to CBC news: "They were witness to things that you would pray that you never see, or that if you do, it would be a once-in-a-lifetime experience of service" 🙏 – at Wainwright, Alberta

Sure, We Could Keep Believing It Was Just Some "Prarie Fire" 🙄 Or, We Could Look At The EVIDENCE And Devise The Truth. Do You Believe The Fire Caused The Explosion Or The Explosion Caused The Fire? Or, Was There No Explosion At All?... I live At The Hospital And I Am TIRED Of This "Wildfire" Theory. Let me tell you my side of the MCI. It All Started With "CODE ORANGE" Across The Intercom around 4 p.m. Saturday. Then, All Hell Broke Loose For The Next 12 Hours! ***Alberta’s healthcare system, a Code Orange designates a Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) or disaster response. What It Means. • Definition: It is activated when an event generates more severely injured or ill patients than routine emergency department or urgent care resources can handle on their own. • System-Wide Coordination: It forces hospitals, emergency medical services (EMS), and regional health authorities to work together across the province to manage a sudden surge of trauma patients. • Clearing the Decks: Hospitals under a Code Orange execute emergency standby protocols. This includes recalling off-duty staff, discharging or moving stable patients to free up beds, staging emergency equipment, and prioritizing care strictly by medical urgency. • Public Impact: During a Code Orange, emergency resources (like ambulances or specialized trauma centers) can become severely strained, and the public is often advised to avoid impacted emergency departments unless dealing with a life-threatening injury. The numbers so far: 4 K.I.A • Sgt. Morgan Wong. • Pvt. Shaun Farrell. • Pvt. Aidan Goulding. • Pvt. Hayden Lykkemark. 19 Remain In Critical Care. 8 Were Intubated. Casualties Sent As Far As Regina, SK 573 Km (356 miles) Away. 30 Emergency Services Were Called In: • 20 Ambulances. • 1 Medical Bus. • 9 Airbourne Units. Are you sure it was just a "fire?" First Vehicle That Rolled In VS First Injured Personnel. When they are bringing the injured to the local hospital in a HLV INSTEAD of a military ambulance, you know in your gut, this wasn't just a fire that got out of control. There was an explosion, or many... Fingers missing, 3rd degree burns, pants blown CLEAN OFF! Yes, you read that right. His. Pants. Were. In. TATTERS. Ran by me in his briefs, severely burnt with yellow discoloration to the affected areas. It was a WARZONE!! 🤯 THE HOSPITAL AT CFB WAS FULL!!! DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT THAT MEANS?? There's something more... The air smelled "burnt" when I was outside. Transparency is key during the fog. God bless every one of you and never take a day for granted. – at Wainwright, Alberta
