I have been receiving numerous complaints about members of the public being turned away at police stations when wanting to report accidents as they are told they need to report to the area where the accident actually happened.
PLEASE NOTE: Any motor vehicle accident can be reported at any @SAPoliceService station.
Members of the public should not be turned away or instructed to report the accident only at the station where the incident occurred.
The practice of showing people away has caused significant inconvenience and confusion. You can insist on opening and filing the relevant report at ANY police station.
