Amazing what confidence can do to an outfit. From conceding 429 few days ago to cleaning up a team in form for 110, 🇱🇰's bowlers have reciprocated to their batters' heroics promptly. The track aided the bowlers. Yet, the job had to be done & it was done in absolute style!!
No T20 Bilateral/Franchise tournaments can match the old school beauty of closely contested triangular ODI tournaments. Cricket should find a way to keep these beauties alive. This series is a glimpse of how beautiful Carlton & United, Standard & Charted, Sharjah Cup etc were!
Dasun in particular & 🇱🇰 in general approached the Rawalpindi chase as if without a care. In a way, liberating themselves from shackles of fear. This has been seen consistently in dead rubbers with nothing at stake. In such context,Kirsten's proven man management may be a blessing
Pavan isn't the prototype modern-day ODI batter. However, from Khettarama to Pallekelle to Rawalpindi, he has displayed immense adaptability, backing his strengths to deliver what the context demands. A priceless feature which screams out he has what it takes to do what 🇱🇰 needs!
Janith ensured Rawalpindi 2026 didn't become another Rajkot 2009. The clarity & conviction to take the onus upon him and closing the game would have made even the best proud. Janith ensured the efforts of Pavan, Avishka & Dasun ended up orchestrating a great win deservedly.
Many worthy contenders. The WT2014 deservedly emerges on top. In a way it was a well deserved recognition for a top tier unit which consistently punched above its weight. Herath's 5-3, goes under the radar. The moment the it seemed as if 🇱🇰 were destined for glory, for once!!
Recently came across a podcast on 🇱🇰's 2nd greatest cricketing moment. Without a doubt 96 Final is the greatest. Which in your opinion deserves to be the second greatest moment in 🇱🇰 Cricket?
(The Semi win deserves consideration separate from the final on its own)

87 votes • Final resultsThe Pavan-Janith partnership deserved to end up as a match winning one. Brilliant middle phase batting from both pushing SL to a winning position. The weak 5th bowling option & lack of batting depth beyond #7 were critical to losing a match which should have been won by all means
Kusal M has been pivotal in most 🇱🇰 wins across formats, especially in T20s for around last 18 months at least. The inability of the rest to come good consistently & the disastrous run of overall results has overshadowed what has undeniably been a commendable turnaround!!
Sineth Jayawardene may not have set the ground on fire, but showed enough glimpse of his potential. With limited exposure to top tier bowling, the fearlessness & intent he displayed is the kind of impetus 🇱🇰's T20 set up needs. Hope he's backed enough to work his way upwards!
🇱🇰's loss to 🇵🇰 in the 1st T20I reiterated the gap that exists between 🇱🇰 & other second tier T20I sides like 🇵🇰 & West Indies. While the decision at the toss would have played a part, how 🇱🇰 fare in the next two T20Is will provide an accurate picture of the real standing!
In what was otherwise an unsurprising hammering, Lahiru Udara seizing the opportunity and delivering making the most of his form was great to see. England was a tough induction, but in famililar, less demanding conditions Udara's innings was impressive. Deserved a 💯. Well played
The kind of fight West Indies showed in 🇮🇳 led by Shai Hope is what 🇱🇰 painfully lacked against 🏴 . The gap between top & the rest has widened but there can be no excuse to lack fight & spirit. Eager to see if 🇱🇰 could turn the tide in 🇵🇰 triangular. Can't afford many changes!
Apart from the Headingley win which was an exception, every single game on this English tour in non English conditions mostly exposed how far behind 🇱🇰 is in white ball Cricket. The path just to be competitive seems a massive distance away. Shows the extent of past damage!!
The win at Headingley was an unexpected but pleasant travel back in time for Sri Lanka.
A retro evening in many ways!!

The four over phase during which Wellalage weaved a web of spin to strangle 🏴 back with three massive wickets through brilliant deception from what was essentially a winning position, has to be the best 🇱🇰 effort since Pathum's brilliance at Pallekele in Feb. Spellbinding!!
All round effort built around the skipper. Its amazing how the everything appears different when the basics are executed well. Kusal going big set the entire game up and the bowling eventually delivered with runs on the board. Leading from the front knock. Well done Kusal 👏
With due respect to the player, 🇱🇰 should boldly look beyond Wanindu for the 2027 CWC. Not that it would make much difference, the disparity between promise-performace & insane frequency of injuries is indicative of that spot being an extreme risk at best if not a liability!
While the world is obsessing over 8th/9th batting options & 6th/7th bowling options in ODIs, 🇱🇰 begin the ODI series today trying to figure out the 7th batting & 5th bowling option. That in a nutshell summarises where our ODI set up is & the least we could hope to fix this series
