Can we build multimodal models by simply aligning pretrained unimodal models with limited paired data? We introduce STRUCTURE 🏗️: a lightweight, plug-and-play regularizer that preserves latent geometry to align frozen unimodal models using <1% of paired data typically used in the field #AI #MachineLearning #MultimodalAlignment 🚀 +51.6% avg boost in zero-shot classification 🔍 +91.8% in retrieval tasks Very proud of the fantastic team @FabianGroger @ShuoWen18 Huyen Le Paper: arxiv.org/abs/2506.16895 Project webpage: brbiclab.epfl.ch/projects/st…

Why are there intronic reads in your bulk RNA-seq data? You're not alone—it's common, and the reasons are more layered than you think. Let’s break it down. 🧵

Fantastic work by Wallace, many colleagues and collaborators of the #FANTOM6 consortium. Identification and characterisation of full-length structures of eRNA, and other non coding RNAs, is essential for our understanding of biology.
Excited to share our new preprint on "CFC-seq & enhancer-derived transcription". We have identified ~24,000 eRNAs and their transcription are correlated with enhancer structures. Read more on @biorxivpreprint: [doi.org/10.1101/2024.10.31.6…]

Does 6mA exist in eukaryotic DNA? This is our take on this dispute: yes it does, and can be very abundant, but mostly correlates with presence of the MT-A70 writer AMT1. Then, 6mA is associated with transcriptionally-permissive chromatin (H3K4me3) 1/6: biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…
