I don't want to sound ungrateful, but Boris Johnson has just offered our wet led pubs 1k. 1k will NOT save most of the 1806 wet led pubs across Greater Manchester. Our community pubs, most of which our in our most deprived areas. It feels like an insulting token gesture.

£1000 per pub? How does this compensate for losing the best part of a year & Xmas for wet-led pubs? Just when I thought @BorisJohnson & his mob couldn't kick the industry in the teeth more. Do they not realise what is at stake for ALL of us involved in this wonderful industry?

We are a self-reliant SME. By our calcualtions, assuming any supportive landlords/suppliers retain same support, we need around an additional £500 pw PER SITE to simply cover the fixed costs. And my family don't eat at that level... CHANGE TIER TERMS!!

£1k is a drop in the ocean compared to lost sales for Christmas - far less than a day’s trade. It is also only going to pubs which do no food leaving those with a mix of sales, restaurants and cafes in tier 3 who are also closed empty handed. Time for a rethink on grants

So Michael Gove, interviewed on @GMB, can’t define what a ‘substantial meal’ actually entails. Which obviously gives pubs a lot of leeway in their own sensible definition. Thanks, @piersmorgan and @susannareid100 for giving pubs in Tier 2 a little more of a chance of survival.

It is with the deepest regret that tonight I’m voting against the government's tier restrictions. I understand the need to protect our local NHS but I also feel it’s morally wrong to make hospitality uneconomic and not offer proper targeted help.
