What if No With Veto had reached the threshold on Proposal #1623?
One thing is certain: that proposal would have failed.
The new Terra chain would not have been created under those terms, and the future of the original Terra would have had to be discussed again.
What happened next cannot be known. But another path was already being argued for at the time.
@cz_binance was publicly calling for:
☑️Restore the network.
☑️Reduce the inflated supply.
☑️Be transparent about the reserves.
☑️Rebuild.
A successful veto could have forced Terra to confront that alternative instead of moving immediately to a new chain.
Maybe another proposal would still have created a second Terra later. Maybe not. But history would have been different.
And that is exactly why No With Veto matters...
➡️ Sometimes a veto does not merely reject a proposal.
Sometimes it preserves the possibility of another path.

A governance lesson from #TerraClassic history. 🗳️🌕
In May 2022, Proposal #1623 — the Terra Ecosystem Revival Plan 2 — proposed creating a new chain and leaving the original Terra chain behind as Terra Classic.
➡️Some validators chose No With Veto.
They didn’t stop the proposal, but their vote still matters today❗
➡️Because No With Veto is not automatically abuse.
It is a governance tool — and context matters.
Sometimes it can be misused.
Sometimes it can be resistance to a path believed to be wrong for the chain.
Four years later, two of those validators are still here, still validating Luna Classic:

Whatever anyone thinks of the decision today, that consistency deserves recognition.
Governance is not about agreeing with every vote. It is about understanding why the tools exist.

Burn activity varied throughout the week, with October 5 recording the largest daily burn at 306,955 $USTC.
That single day accounted for approximately 59.2% of the total $USTC burned during the seven day period.
