"We very, very much need such a system… it does not seem to scale to the required size."
This was the first time anyone publicly pushed back on Bitcoin, and it was about scaling. The same debate later drove the 2017 block-size wars, Lightning and today's layer 2s.

THE BLOCK: BTCPay Server, the open-source bitcoin payment processor, said it is receiving reports of hot wallets on its servers being swept by unauthorized attackers.
The team urged anyone running an instance to shut it down until it completes its investigation.

THE BLOCK: North Korean hackers have laundered about $242 million of the Binance funds they stole on Tron in two days, according to onchain analyst @SomaXBT. More than half went out through Relay, THORChain, Chainflip and Symbiosis. Now the FBI wants THORChain to block the hackers.
THORChain’s co-founder @CBarraford hasn’t said whether node operators will go along with the block request, and Symbiosis admitted its screening has “gaps.”
On Sunday, the hackers started swapping SOL for bitcoin through Relay after the FBI had already flagged their Solana wallet. @Elliptic says the whole thing looks scripted, running around the clock, but doesn't necessarily suggest AI agents are being used.

Between 1 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. ET (06:00–15:30 UTC), the exchange processed $4.649 billion in withdrawals and $1.01 billion in deposits, which it said equals 2.1% of its $171 billion in assets.

The U.S. Secret Service continues to investigate the theft of more than $6 billion in cryptocurrency from Binance Global.
Within minutes of the incident on Thursday afternoon, Secret Service investigators worked with industry partners to identify and freeze a significant portion of stolen cryptocurrency. That work continues with the @FBI, @IRS_CI, the @USAO_DC and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California, DOJ CCIPS, and @DOJNatSec.

The FBI is releasing information advising the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea) was responsible for the theft of more than $6 billion USD in virtual assets from cryptocurrency exchange, Binance, on or about October 29, 2026. The FBI refers to this specific North Korean malicious cyber activity as "TraderTraitor."
The FBI, together with partners at the USSS and IRS-CI, has observed TraderTraitor actors converting stolen assets primarily into Ethereum (ETH). It is expected these assets will then be further laundered by converting them using DeFi and instant swap services as they prepare them for further laundering stages.
How You Can Help:
FBI, USSS, and IRS-CI are urging private sector entities including THORNode operators, RPC node operators, instant exchanges, DeFi services, blockchain analytics firms, and other virtual asset service providers to block transactions with or derived from addresses TraderTraitor actors are using to launder these stolen assets.

Your old iPhone might not be as safe for storing crypto seed phrases as you think. ⚠️
OneKey founder @ohyishi warned that older iPhones are affected by unpatchable BootROM vulnerabilities, including checkm8 and usbliter8. Even a factory reset and airplane mode won't eliminate the underlying risks.
These flaws don't automatically expose seed phrases, as passcodes and the Secure Enclave provide additional protection. However, attackers with physical access and specialized tools may still exploit them through USB.
If you've been using an old iPhone as an offline wallet, consider generating a fresh seed phrase on a trusted device and moving your assets.
