Over the past few days I've been sharing different parts of Digital Matter World, because there's quite a lot to it and I didn't want to throw everything at everyone in one go. I've now put together a fuller explanation of what we've built, how it works, and why I think it opens up some really interesting possibilities for the wider Digital Matter community on Bitcoin. If you've been following along, here's where it all comes together.

If you're a Bitmap holder, here's something important to know about Digital Matter World. Your Bitmaps already represent your Bitcoin blocks (ofc). In Digital Matter World, you can link them and give them additional earning potential. Once linked, whenever any eligible digital matter from your blocks is created on Bitcoin, whether that’s next week or years into the future, you'll receive 15% of the minting fee (in $TAP), regardless of whoever creates those assets. We’ll soon release the full details around linking and the specific earnings mechanics. I’ve always loved the idea that something people already own can find entirely new uses, which is why Bitmaps are integrated as a central economic component within DMW.

One thing that was really important to me when building Digital Matter World was making sure we weren't asking everyone to start from scratch. Over the past few years, people across the Digital Matter community have spent countless hours discovering and inscribing patterns onto Bitcoin. That work deserves to be recognised. So I'm really happy to share that existing patterns will also be included in DMW's periodic table, with their original discoverers rewarded. We believe it’s important that we're not just creating a world for new discoveries. We're also bringing the discoveries people have already made into that same world. And I think that's going to make it a much more interesting place for everyone.

We've put an enormous amount of work into this, and I've been looking forward to sharing it with the wider Bitocin and Digital Matter community.
