Inscriptions are a massive issue for the EVM.
If a swap costs 10x more than minting an inscription, why would you stop?
The core problem is a mispricing of gas on the VM level. Really odd.
How do we so solve this? Some thoughts.
Social layer - if you know someone using inscriptions. Ask em to stop. There are infinite better ways to make money. Look around you.
Marketplace layer - inscriptions subnet? Can we move these marketplaces to their own network? Possibly. But it’s unlikely.
Validator layer - can we get every validator to agree to sensor these transactions? Even if that was technically possible. No.
Network layer - can we make these EVM chains handle more data throughput? Yes. Firewood is doing that.
EVM layer - can we find a new way to calculate gas? Sounds like a good solution. But have no idea on if that’s possible.
So.
What do we do now? The only thing we can.
And that’s on the social layer.
Show that there are better ways to use crypto than inscriptions.
Try out subnets. Gas is low.
