The Binance hacker has 18,270 BTC. That's more Bitcoin than Tesla holds. For comparison: Tesla: 11,509 BTC El Salvador: approximately 7,820 BTC Binance attacker: 18,270 BTC The stolen Bitcoin is worth roughly $1.4 BILLION. CoinDesk's latest blockchain investigation found the coins split across 19 wallets, with 17 holding exactly 1,000 BTC each. And unlike USDT or USDC, Bitcoin has no central issuer that can simply freeze those addresses. Recovering this portion is going to be considerably harder.

Einen Teil der USDT hat er gar nicht erst in der Wallet liegen lassen. 60 Millionen hat er bei Aave als Sicherheit hinterlegt und sich dagegen 19.762 Ether geliehen. Dann war er weg. Und jetzt wird es richtig verrückt. Tether kann USDT in einer Wallet sperren. Geliehenes Ether kann niemand sperren. Aave hat die Märkte eingefroren, die 60 Millionen USDT liegen als Pfand fest. Der Hacker sitzt auf gut 44 Millionen Dollar in Ether. Zurückzahlen wird er diesen Kredit nie. Warum auch. Rechnet man es nach, hat er seine USDT zu rund 3.030 Dollar je Ether verkauft. Ether steht bei 2.240. Ein miserabler Kurs. Aber 44 Millionen sind mehr als null. Und null wäre es gewesen, wenn die USDT in der Wallet geblieben wären. Zwei Firmen haben in Minuten Milliarden eingefroren. Einer, der DeFi verstanden hat, ist trotzdem mit einem Teil rausgekommen. Und das war nur die kleine Nummer. Über eine halbe Million Ether und 18.270 #Bitcoin konnte ihm sowieso niemand sperren.

Binance has begun recovering affected assets for users and continues to work with law enforcement, issuers, blockchain intelligence firms and industry partners to trace, freeze and recover additional funds. The company has already publicly committed to cover losses through company funds in the prior announcement. Binance has already reserved over $6.34B of company funds to cover this incident. $5B of these funds are already held in the exact token assets that were impacted. We are completing the purchase of the remaining amount by buying token assets through market channels and OTC channels. We are doing this to match the format of the remaining token assets and address any asset shortfalls. This step can take longer because some tokens may have low liquidity and OTC settlement also takes time. We will share more progress as soon as we can. These figures do not include frozen or protected assets, which remain subject to ongoing recovery and verification. Currently, $3bn has been frozen, with thanks to our industry partners. We are working with partners and law enforcement to recover the frozen assets.We will continue to use company resources to cover confirmed shortfall and will provide further verified updates as recovery efforts progress. CryptoBilis update We've been made aware, through responsible disclosure, of a single hardware implant in a Trezor Safe 5 device bought from the reseller CryptoBilis in August 2026. No CryptoBilis buyer has reported a loss of funds to us. IMPORTANT: If you bought a Trezor from CryptoBilis from March 2026 onwards, we know this is unsettling. Here’s what to do: Already using it? Move your funds to a newly created wallet with a new seed as soon as possible. Do not reuse the old seed in any wallet, hardware or software. If you don’t have another secure hardware wallet available, we recommend temporarily migrating your funds to a software wallet or an exchange you are familiar with. Not set up yet? Don’t set it up, and never enter your existing wallet backup on it. We haven’t received the device to confirm this report, but based on the customer’s description, we’re treating it as credible and sharing it now so customers who purchased a Trezor via CryptoBilis can secure their funds as a precaution. Our security team will examine the device as soon as it arrives. On October 9, 2026, we removed CryptoBilis as a reseller following reports of tampered Ledger devices sold through it. Since then, we have been inspecting Trezor devices that customers bought from CryptoBilis and have found no signs of tampering on any of the four devices we’ve received so far. NEVER share your wallet backup (recovery phrase) with anyone. Trezor Support will never ask for it. The Arbitrum Security Council has taken emergency action to rescue the 74,559,805 ARB and 8,425 ETH being held in the address on Arbitrum One that is identified as connected to the Binance exploit. The Security Council acted by weighing its commitment to the security and integrity of the Arbitrum community and Arbitrum governance without impacting any Arbitrum users or applications. After significant technical diligence and deliberation, the Security Council identified and executed a technical approach to move funds to safety without affecting any other chain state or other Arbitrum users. As of October 30, 2026 time, the funds have been successfully transferred to an intermediary frozen wallet. They are no longer accessible to the address that originally held the funds, and can only be moved by further action of the Security Council or a vote of Arbitrum DAO governance, which will be coordinated with relevant parties.

Binance will cover all losses. As a precaution, all deposits and withdrawals are temporarily suspended while our team conducts security checks, freezes funds, and works with law enforcement.
