🚨NEW: In addition to @Ripple’s approval for its stablecoin under the @NYDFS limited purpose trust charter, @Anchorage has also received approval from the regulator for a BitLicense, meaning it can operate and offer its services to institutions in New York State.
Today, the New York State Department of Financial Services (@NYDFS) has approved our subsidiary, Anchorage Digital NY, LLC, for a BitLicense.
The addition of BitLicense-regulated trading means @Anchorage can offer institutions in New York State (@NYGov) secure and cost-efficient trading with a new level of efficiency with full capabilities expected in early 2025.

🚨NEW: The @SECGov has filed its response to @coinbase’s complaint over how it applies securities laws to digital assets, asking the Court to deny Coinbase’s petition for mandamus.
“That Coinbase would like its policy preferences addressed immediately does not entitle it to extraordinary relief ordering the Commission to act on a rulemaking petition that has been pending for well under a year.”

In 1946, in its Sup Ct “Howey” brief, the SEC unsuccessfully argued that an investment in a “common enterprise” was unnecessary provided there was a “community of interest”. The SEC was wrong then and it is still wrong now. Common Interest ≠ Common Enterprise.
