Alcaraz-2022
-19 yr old
-2nd yr on tour
-became youngest no. 1
-Beat Rafa, Novac & Zevrev
-became youngest player to defeat World no. 1
-only player to defeat Nadal and novac back to back on clay.

Zevrev barely managed 3 top 10 wins whole year
If Alexander Zverev was “Lucky” to be World No.1 for the first time in his career on November 02, 2026, Carlos Alcaraz was “Double Lucky” to be on top of the ATP Rankings on September 12, 2022 to become the youngest No.1 in tennis history after winning his first Major, the US Open that year.
Even after Rafa Nadal won his last and 22nd Slam title, the 2022 French Open, Novak Djokovic was at No.1 in ATP Rankings with 8770 points on June 06, 2022. Daniil Mevedv was at No.2 with 8160 points, Zverev was at No.3 with 7795 points, and Nadal was at No.4 with 7525 points. Alcaraz was way down at No.7 with only 5005 points.
Zverev would have become No.1 in the world much earlier but for the terrible ankle injury he suffered during his semi-final match against Rafa at FO 2022, that forced him to retire hurt after the first set. He was just two match wins away from being Ranked No.1 in ATP then itself. Due to that injury, the German was forced to sit out for the rest of season, till he played at AO 2023.
Novak had an entry ban to North American Continent throughout the year 2022. Plus, he was not allowed to defend 2000 points for the Wimbledon title he won in July that year. In the case of Novak, both were NOT for “tennis reasons” or NOT even due to any injury. Those two happenings to Zverev and Djokovic helped Carlos to become the No.1 player for the first time in his career on September 12, 2022 with the least ATP ranking points of 6,740 since Roger Federer rose to No.1 on February 02, 2004.!
But for those unfortunate incidents, either Zverev or Djokovic would have been the No.1 even if Carlos won the 2022 US Open as the young Spaniard could add only 40 points to his tally by 2022 Year-End. After winning the Australian Open, Djokovic regained his No.1 position on January 23, 2023 with 7,070 points – 340 points ahead of Alcaraz.
With @DjokerNole winning 3 Majors, he ended the year 2023 at No.1 with 11,245 points – leading by a huge margin of 2,390 points over Alcaraz. The Serbian continued to be No.1 till June 10, 2024, the date on which Jannik Sinner rose to No.1 in ATP rankings for the first time with 9,535 points - a lead of 945 points over the No.2 Spaniard with 8,580.
Alcaraz could regain his No.1 rankings from Sinner only after 65 weeks from there on September 08, 2025. By that time, the Spaniard was 22 Years, 4 Months, and 106 Days old.! Lleyton Hewitt at 20 y 8m 23 d would have remained as the youngest No.1 player in Men’s tennis even now.
None of the tennis “experts”, commentators or the media said Alcaraz was lucky to become the No.1 player then. On the contrary, they went over-board, claiming the “Future” GOAT was here and a new “Alcaraz Era” has started.! How RIDICULOUS that was.
Now, when Zverev became No.1 for the first time in his career, the same people are saying the German was ‘lucky’. The same Alcaraz is at No.3 in ATP rankings on November 02, 2026 – that is 3,450 ATP points BEHIND the new World No.1 Zverev.
That’s KARMA. It hits back at anyone for indulging in bad deeds, or even for carrying ‘evil’ thoughts in their minds like finding pleasure in the failure of others🙏🙏

Personne n’a perdu 10 matches de suite contre le gars qui était numéro 1 avant lui

Maybe that should make him reflect a bit as to whether he's there because he earned it or simply bc he got lucky
But well I don't think you can ask for a lot of self reflection for a guy with two abuse allegations that has faced no repercussions whatsoever
Alexander Zverev says he’s annoyed that he’s the only world No. 1 in history who has to explain why it’s ok for him to be world No. 1:
“I was a bit annoyed the last couple of days because achieving the world No. 1 status is something I think every player dreams of. But then, I feel like I’m the only world No. 1 in tennis history that has to explain why it’s ok for me to be world No. 1… which I find quite difficult. Because I deserve to be where I am. I don’t think anyone has to explain themselves as much as I had to do in the last couple of days.”
bro lost immediately after saying this against another italian😭
ATP Parigi, Zverev: "Punto a battere più spesso Sinner e Alcaraz"

Reminder that the current ATP world No.1 hasn't defeated one of Djokovic, Alcaraz, or Sinner in a completed match since the Biden administration
this is killing me nobody rates him😭
the court was the exact same when he won in under an hour two days ago....
how sore of a loser do you want to be?
zverev: yes
