👋 I'm Emmanuel. I work in cybersecurity. Here's what you'll get if you follow along: 🔐 Simple security habits to keep you safer online 💼 What's working for me as I grow in cyber, like study methods, free resources and certs 🛠️ What I'm learning and building as I go Cyber doesn't have to be intimidating. Let's learn it together. #CyberSecurity

🔐 5-minute account cleanup: Open the devices list on your Google, Apple, or Microsoft account. Sign out anything you don't recognize. Old phones, a laptop you sold, that hotel login... if the session is still live, someone else might still be in. Those sessions can reset passwords and read your email. What's the oldest device still hanging on yours?

👀 What's helping me aim my study time in cyber: I skim 3 job posts a week in the lane I'm building toward. I highlight the skills that keep repeating, then I pick ONE to practice that week. Not a rule for everyone. Just a way I stop drowning in random courses and actually close gaps. Which skill keeps showing up in the roles you're eyeing?

💻 Something that's helping me more than another video binge: I started treating Linux like a skill I practice, not a chapter I read once. Free OverTheWire Bandit levels force you to SSH in and use the command line until it sticks. No fluff. Solve a level, move on. If you've been stuck in tutorial hell, this is a solid reset. What's your go-to free lab right now? #linux #cybersecurity

👀 If you're trying to break into cyber, here's what's actually helped me so far: Learn networking before tools. Ports, DNS and how traffic moves make everything else click. Pick one free resource and finish it before you jump to the next. Write down what you learn in your own words. If you can't explain it, you don't know it yet. Stay consistent. 30 minutes a day beats one 6-hour cram. What's one thing that helped you early on? #cybersecurity

Exactly this! Easy 2-minute audit you can do right now: iPhone: Settings > Privacy & Security Android: Settings > Security & privacy > Permission manager Check Location, Contacts, Microphone, and Camera. If an app doesn't need it, turn it off. Least privilege isn't just for work networks. #cybersecurity
A flashlight app shouldn't need access to your contacts. Yet many apps request permissions they don't need. Before tapping Allow: Check what the app wants. Ask if it's necessary. Revoke access you don't use. Every unnecessary permission increases your exposure.

Exactly. Over-tuning a SIEM to eliminate false positives often creates false negatives, so real threats get filtered out and never reach an analyst. #cybersecurity #socanalyst
A silent SIEM can mean nothing happened or nothing was seen. True positive → Alert, real attack False positive → Alert, nothing malicious True negative → No alert, nothing there False negative → No alert, real attack Only one of these never reaches a queue.

Grok bot is my main app now. It is a super power.
Got to say it. GrokBot is AWESOME. Actually addicting.

One habit has helped me most while building my skills in cybersecurity: I stopped rereading my notes. Now, after I learn something new, I close everything and write down what I remember. Then I check what I missed. Those gaps show me exactly what to work on next. It feels harder than rereading, but that's what makes it stick. If you're growing in cyber or trying to break in, give it a try for a week. #Cybersecurity #CareerGrowth

🚨 Android users, update your phone tonight. Google just fixed a critical bug in Android 14 through 17 that could let attackers run code on your phone without you tapping anything. No attacks have been reported yet. Go to Settings, then Security, and make sure your security update is dated Nov 1, 2026 or later. Checked yours?

🔐 Thinking about getting your CompTIA Security+? I've had mine for a while now. Here's what I'd tell anyone starting out: Start with the official exam objectives. That's your real study guide. Learn the why behind the concepts, not just definitions. The questions are scenario-based. Do lots of practice questions and review every one you miss. Don't panic over the performance-based questions at the start. You can flag them and come back. Read every question slowly. One word can change the answer. #SecurityPlus #CyberSecurity

🔐 Quick security habit that takes 2 minutes: Turn on login alerts for your email. If someone signs in from a new device, you'll know right away, not weeks later. Your email resets every other password you have. Protect it first. #CyberSecurity

Quick security check to do with your coffee ☕ Open your Google or Microsoft account settings and find "third-party apps" or "connected apps." That's every app you ever clicked "Sign in with" on. Remove the ones you don't use anymore. If one of those apps gets breached later, it can't reach your account. #cybersecurity

3 easy security habits that take 5 minutes and block a lot of common hacks 🔐 Use an authenticator app or a passkey to log in, not text message codes. Scammers have a much harder time stealing those. Use a password manager. It makes a different password for every site, so one leak can't open all your accounts. Update your phone and browser as soon as an update shows up. Updates fix holes that hackers already know about. No fancy tools needed. I share simple security tips like this every day. Follow if you want to stay safer online. #cybersecurity

exactly this!
Cybersecurity there's no applause in the beginning. No likes No job offers No money Just you, your laptop and your decision to continue. That's the level nobody warns you about.
