💡Learn how we contributed to the @DACHA_Study which aimed to establish what data needs to be in place to support research, service development and uptake of innovation in #carehomes.

▶️Do you work for, or with older people's care homes?
▶️Are you a relative of a care home resident?
▶️Are you willing to feedback on how useful and relevant the MDS is?

Useful @DACHA_Study resource, led by @LisIrv enabling secondary data analysis, what's not to like, answering questions from a dataset of 5,674 residents across 308 care homes without troubling care home staff. 😃
VICHTA collates data from randomised control trials in older care home settings. The data focus on care homes themselves to help understand the nature of an ageing population in these facilities.
These data are available for research.

Thank you for #MBE good wishes, due to
enabling environments & the work of caring, hard- clever colleagues esp @bunn_f @CRIPACC1. @DACHA_Study team. So much owed to my mum, she refused to accept a failed 11+ defined me. her #dementia means she'll understand the hug if not why

Wish there was a way of measuring the positive contribution #carehomes make in managing acute illness in their residents. Without a doubt if Mum was at home she’d be back in hospital due to #delirium instead she’s in a safe & caring familiar place with 24hr-support #careaboutcare

Care Homes " collect extensive data on the health, care and support needs of individual residents, their preferences and activities. Tools & measures..from health services are in widespread use," @DACHA_Study Don't underestimate what care home staff know about their residents!!
Accessible #care home population data was a key challenge during #COVID19.❗️
This article thus examines the range and method of data collected in #UK care homes, where there's no mandated Minimum Data-Sets (#MDS):👉journal.ilpnetwork.org/artic…

Misconception that there isn’t enough #data about people living in #carehomes - @DACHA_Study #survey doi.org/10.31389/jltc.199 led by @BarbaraHanratty challenges that demonstrating the significant #data collected. Challenge is how to operationalise for resident benefit at scale
