Unforgettable AKETI: A special colloquium is being held in honour of the late Arákùnrin Akeredolu, SAN, to commemorate what would have been his 70th birthday and celebrate his enduring legacy, leadership, and contributions to Ondo State and Nigeria. #AketiAt70 #StatePolice
For Akeredolu, State Police was never an abstract debate. He questioned, again and again, a system that makes governors answerable for security in their states while giving them little control over the police. Today, on what would have been his 70th birthday, that conversation goes on. The question is no longer only whether Nigeria should have State Police, but how to build one that works. 📅 Thursday, 8 October 2026 🕙 10:00am 📍 International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan #AketiAt70 #StatePolice #NationalSecurity

The seeds of organizational transformation we planted over five years ago are beginning to bear fruit. In 2021, we embarked on a bold journey to reposition Odu'a Investment Group as a competitive, globally relevant investment holding company. Our strategy was straightforward: sweat our assets for greater value, revive viable but underperforming businesses, and create new enterprises. We called it (Sweat, Revive and Create). Five years later, the results speak for themselves. At our 44th Annual General Meeting, we announced our strongest financial performance yet, recording a Profit Before Tax of ₦23.58 billion for the 2025 financial year, a 410% increase over the ₦4.62 billion recorded in 2024. Some of the key highlights from the AGM include: - Record profitability, with Profit Before Tax rising 410% to ₦23.58 billion. - Strong revenue growth, as operating revenue increased 78% to ₦20.22 billion. - Greater market confidence, reflected in our Agusto & Co credit rating upgrade from A+ to Aa- with a stable outlook. - The launch of SRC 2.0 (2026–2030), setting a bold course towards a ₦1 trillion asset base by 2030. - A leadership transition, as we celebrated the successful completion of Otunba Bimbo Ashiru's four-year tenure as Group Chairman and announced Dr. Tola Kasali as his successor. Over five years ago, we planted the seeds. Now, we celebrate the harvest. Looking ahead, we begin planting again, this time with a clear ambition of building a ₦1 trillion asset base by 2030.

EKSG,NiMet Team Up To Guide Farmers with Seasonal Climate Forecasts The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), in partnership with the Ekiti State Government, will next week Wednesday commence a three-day workshop for farmers, agricultural extension workers, and other stakeholders on the 2026 Seasonal Climate Prediction (SCP). Announcing the event on the live radio programme Ekiti Loni/Ekiti Today, the State Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Mr. Ebenezer Boluwade, said NiMet would at the forum unveil the Seasonal Climate Prediction for the year, providing forecasts on rainfall, temperature patterns, and the onset of rainy and dry seasons. He said the information will be detailed by local government and farmstead to help farmers plan crop cycles and manage risks from extreme weather events. "The training will cascade through agricultural extension workers and farmer representatives to ensure communities across the state benefit,” the Commissioner stated Boluwade noted that officials from the State Ministry of Environment, State Emergency Protection Agency, and Ado-Ekiti Airport will also attend in view of the strategic role weather plays in their operations. Highlighting ongoing agricultural initiatives, the Commissioner said the state is distributing improved yam seeds developed by the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) free of charge to farmers , targeting five million seedlings by the end of 2027. Boluwade said the government aims to make this variety the dominant yam in Ekiti due to its durability and high export demand adding that an agro-allied investor has pledged to establish a yam powder processing factory in the State to supply markets in Canada, the UAE, and Europe. He said the State Government had embarked on an aggressive land clearing and tactorization programme for farmers at subsided rates and was also selling highly subsided agrochemicals , inputs as well as cocoa and oil palm seedling to farmers as part of efforts to improve crop yield and profit margin of farmers in the State Livestock production is also expanding under the Oyebanji administration through collaboration with the World Bank-assisted Livestock Production and Resilience Enhancement Scheme (L-PRES), according to the Commissioner. He said once projects such as ultramodern abattoir in Ado Ekiti, cattle markets in Omuo-Ekiti and Ado Ekiti, veterinary clinics in Ado-Ekiti, construction of 30,000 poultry pens each in Emure Ekiti, Igede Ekiti and Ikole Ekiti and broiler processing facilities in Ado-Ekiti initiated under the L-PRES programme are completed, “the state will become the undisputed leader in livestock production and processing in southwestern Nigeria.” According to him, waste from these facilities will be converted into biogas and fertilizer, further boosting sustainable agricultural practices. Boluwade commended Governor Oyebanji for attracting agribusiness investment and expanding staple and cash crop production, noting that these efforts have strengthened food security, enhanced value chains, and created vital direct and indirect jobs for youths across the state.

I have been jaded lately by the horrors coming into Yorubaland, perhaps because I know that it will get worse, we have been talking about it for few years and have advocated the way we can, it is particularly painful when u see our people dying a preventable death. I wanted to take a leave from here but we have got a conference coming up on June 6th to address the problem we envisaged as a nation with no sovereignty in a Multipoalr world, the events of terrorist invasion are part of the problem that is bound to be the fate of the powerlezs in a multipolar world. Can we survive what is coming or is this the end of the road for our civilization as an ethnic state? Buy your tickets to live and virtual attendance, seats are limited. From all over the world you can join. I live in USA and will be joining virtually. It is important, very important. tyfpac.org/tickets

The difference between activity and impact is alignment. Six states can each pursue growth, but without coordination, scale remains limited and inefficiencies multiply. Our purpose at SWDC is to organize that scale: to design a South-West where infrastructure, capital, and policy move in concert, so that prosperity is structured, measurable, and sustained together.

The future of any region is rarely built by those waiting for their turn. More often, it is shaped by people who understand that responsibility does not begin later, but rather in the moment we find ourselves. This brings to mind a remark made during the Southwest Summit held in Akure last year by @DAWNCommission: “You are not tomorrow’s leaders. You are today’s stakeholders.” The line struck a chord, because it captures something essential about regional progress: transformation rarely begins with distant promises, but with the quiet recognition that stewardship starts now.

Yesterday, the Fairaction Nigeria team held a productive meeting with the Development Agenda for Western Nigeria Commission @DAWNCommission. We were also privileged to be joined by @Gtohquality, Chief Executive Officer of our parent organization, @FairAction_Int. The DAWN Commission serves as the regional coordinating institution established by the governments of the six South West states in Nigeria to drive regional integration and shared prosperity. We deeply respect the Commission’s leadership as the premier platform for coordinated development across Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo, and Ekiti. Our discussion focused on opportunities for collaboration and partnership to benefit underserved communities across the South West. We also shared insights on our Oyo State statewide water mapping efforts, an initiative led by @FairAction_Int. As an organization strongly driven by data, research, and sustainable development, the Commission expressed strong interest in our approach. It was a productive and encouraging meeting, and we sincerely appreciate the DAWN Commission team for their commendation and support. We look forward to building meaningful collaboration. #FairactionNigeria #WaterForAll #CleanWaterAccess #WaterSustainability #SDG6 #EndingWaterPoverty
