Today on MS NOW’s #MorningJoe, I spoke with Georgia Governor-elect Keisha Lance Bottoms following her historic election victory, becoming the first Black woman elected governor in American history. Having known Bottoms for many years, I reflected on her ability to maintain a balanced approach to leadership and asked how she plans to address the affordability crisis while governing a state with diverse communities and political perspectives. Drawing on her experience as mayor of Atlanta, she outlined plans for grocery tax relief and expanding affordable housing initiatives statewide, emphasizing practical solutions, common sense and the importance of listening to the people she serves. I congratulate Governor-elect Bottoms on this historic achievement and look forward to seeing her turn this victory into meaningful progress for the people of Georgia.
