You’ve heard of IQ. You’ve probably heard of EQ. But have you heard of LQ? Of course you haven’t. It’s a concept coined by the TEI facilitator, @JemideAyuli. In negotiation, how people perceive you can influence how they respond to you, engage with you and, ultimately, whether they’re willing to move forward with you. A contrarian thinker and author of LISTENEVERYHOW: How Negotiations Work, Ayuli Jemide brings a different perspective to the negotiation room—one that goes beyond the usual tactics and techniques. We’re now two weeks away from TEI 2026. Your curiosity was infectious, and your willingness to learn made having you around such a pleasure. Keep asking the right questions!
Oscar came to Nigeria at a formative point in his legal journey. As he considered the direction of his future career, he wanted to explore different areas of law, experience a different part of the world and build a broader perspective on legal practice. Detail’s reputation made it a natural choice. He deliberately arrived with few expectations. But the Firm’s reputation had preceded it—and, in his words, it proved well deserved. What stood out most was the work. For Oscar, the opportunity to delve into oil and gas law was particularly eye-opening. It was an area he knew little about before joining us, but one he was given the space to explore and come away with real insight. Beyond the technical experience, something else stayed with him: the team spirit and the opportunity to witness first-hand how a firm of Detail’s calibre operates day-to-day. More importantly, the experience shaped how he thinks about his own future. It showed him that being an international lawyer is genuinely possible. If he had to describe his time at Detail in three words, they would be: Eye-opening, formative, and welcoming. We’re glad part of Oscar’s journey brought him from Luxembourg to Detail. #TheDetailExperience #DetailCommercialSolicitors #WorkCulture #Internship #LawFirm

Victor thought commercial law would be the ā€œrosyā€ side of practice. Three months at Detail gave him a different picture. Before joining us, Victor’s experience had largely been with litigation firms. His internship at Detail was his first opportunity to experience commercial legal practice up close. He came wanting to understand what working in that space was really like and quickly discovered that commercial practice has its own demands. According to Victor, the work was challenging, but that was also what he enjoyed most. He found himself working through demanding tasks and arriving at those satisfying moments when something finally clicked. Over the three months, he grew his knowledge across different practice areas and became more confident engaging in discussions around them. Conversations with our Solicitors about Law School and building a legal career also gave him lessons he hopes to carry forward. One lesson, in particular, stayed with him: ā€œWhat is worth doing at all is worth doing well. And by well, I mean VERY WELL.ā€ It’s a standard Victor says he’ll carry with him beyond his time at Detail. And one thing he’ll miss the most? The friendly and approachable Solicitors. As Victor moves into the next stage of his legal journey, he’s looking forward to one thing above all: learning more about law. We’re glad he spent three months learning with us. Stay tuned for more stories from The DETAIL Experience. #TheDetailExperience #DetailCommercialSolicitors #WorkCulture #Internship #LawFirm #LawGraduate

The future of virtual asset regulation in Nigeria is no longer about who regulates but how regulators work together. Ā  Nigeria's Presidential Executive Order on Virtual Assets Coordination 2026 marks this shift by strengthening coordination between the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and other key agencies while preserving their existing regulatory mandates. Ā  In our latest publication, we examine the key provisions of the Executive Order, how regulatory responsibilities are allocated, and the practical implications for virtual asset operators and other market participants.
