1,117 days since the genocide in Gaza started. 1,117 days of displacement. 1,117 days of bombings & shootings. 1,117 days of struggling to get the most basic human needs.
Give to Gaza: chuffed.org/project/help-us-…
One of the basic needs that Palestinians in Gaza struggle with is water. Every morning, people spend hours just to be able to fill up a couple of jerrycans.
The Sameer Project provides water daily, and we are working hard on partnerships that will help us increase the amount of water we distribute. However, your material support is needed … consistently.
Please consider setting up a monthly donation to our Food & Water Campaign: chuffed.org/project/help-us-…

I don’t care about Israeli elections. Never in the short history of the Israeli entity did the killing, occupation or ethnic cleansing stop. No matter who was in control. A bloodthirsty society will always elect a genocidal demon in its image.

Gaza kids and families are being starved desperately fetching food and supplies.
Most families rely on free food distribution centres which don’t provide them with the nutritions their bodies need.
The winter is also coming. It’s terrifying beyond words.

Can you give just $10 a month? How about $20 or $50?
Whatever amount you can consistently commit to makes a difference. Set up a monthly donation now: linktr.ee/thesameerproject?u…
Monthly donations allow The Sameer Project to plan ahead, sustain distributions, and make informed decisions about how much food, water, medical care, and other essential assistance we can provide to families in Gaza.
When funding is unpredictable, so is the aid people depend on to survive.
Consistency is solidarity. After more than three years of genocide, Palestinians in Gaza deserve something they can count on.
Commit to a monthly donation today. Even $10 a month helps us build a more reliable lifeline for families who have lost nearly everything.

One of the highlights of my time in Jordan was visiting UNWRA archives and examining the index cards and other records of the 750,000 Palestinians kicked off their land at the Nakba in 1948. They used to be kept in Gaza and were airlifted out at the beginning of the genocide- Israel has destroyed all the archives that remained. They form the best evidence for some form of reparations in the future and are now being scanned and digitalised

للمزيد: ardd-jo.org/news/%d8%ba%d8%b…
The Arab Renaissance for Democracy and Development (ARDD), through its Renaissance Strategic Center (RSC), organised, under the theme “Gaza and the Turning of History: The Middle East Before and After,” a visit to the UNRWA Photo and Film Archives with renowned British historian and author William Dalrymple, alongside a high-level working lunch bringing together diplomats, academics, policymakers, and regional experts to reflect on Gaza and Palestine within the broader historical and political transformations shaping the Middle East.
During the visit to the UNRWA Archives, facilitated in cooperation with UNRWA, Dalrymple explored historical records documenting Palestinian displacement, refugee experiences, and collective memory since 1948. Recognized by UNESCO’s Memory of the World Programme, the archives underscore the importance of preserving Palestinian history, identity, and the experiences of generations of refugees.

I have literally spent the last month trekking around Jordan interviewing elderly Nakba survivors and hearing their harrowing stories- and just completed a three hour video interview on Saturday night. No one I talked to left before multiple neighbours or family members had been shot and killed. Few of them had any weapons of any sort to protect themselves and if they did they were ancient Turkish muskets. Their opponents were armed with modern, newly-imported Czech rifles and many had been trained and drilled by the British. It became simply suicidal to remain, though many old people tried to so. The guy I interviewed on Saturday fled with his mother after their village was bombed. Their father remained and was loaded onto a truck to Gaza, at gunpoint, by the Haganah. Many of the family members that remained in Gaza have been killed in the last two years

Gaza is under random gunfire right now. We don’t understand what is happening here. Gunfire is literally everywhere.
Tanks and military bulldozers are firing randomly at tents and homes, while aircraft are flying extremely low, making terrifying sounds that are impossible to describe.
Don’t stop talking about Gaza. Don’t let the world become numb to what is happening here.

In this picture, you see a Palestinian woman named Hadeel Al-Dahdouh. Her home was raided while she was safe with her husband and her child, who was only two years old.
They removed her hijab, placed her among men wearing only their underwear, and subjected them to severe beatings. They then dug a large pit and began burying the men alive.
When the sand reached her husband's face and he began to suffocate, she tried to remove the sand from his face to save him. They beat her so brutally that even men would struggle to endure such violence.
After that, they fired shots into the air, told her that her husband had been killed, and then released her. Today, she lives in Gaza, suffering from severe psychological trauma as a result of what she endured.
As for her husband, he was released after three months, having endured a journey of torment inside the prisons. Throughout that entire period, Hadeel lived with the agonizing belief that her husband had been killed, unaware that he was still alive.
Israel has committed filthy and savage crimes against Palestinians unlike anything the world has ever witnessed in the entire history of humanity.

How do you get around when there is almost no transportation left?
Donate here: chuffed.org/project/113222-t…
In Gaza, vehicles have been destroyed, roads are filled with rubble, and the cars that remain are breaking down from years of use without proper maintenance, spare parts, or tires.
Animal-pulled carts have become an alternative, but they are often unsafe and inaccessible for children, the elderly, and people with disabilities.
Imagine needing to reach a hospital, collect food, or simply return home, and having no way to get there.
Here a man describes the daily struggle of finding transportation and how even the few available vehicles cannot meet the overwhelming demand.
This is why The Sameer Project operates free buses across Gaza. Transportation is a lifeline, restoring access to essential services and a measure of dignity and freedom of movement.
Support our transportation program by donating to our General Fund: chuffed.org/project/113222-t…

In 1973, a Greek ship carrying cement sank off the coast of Gaza City, ending up at the bottom of the sea.
Today, 53 years later, people in Gaza have begun heading to the shipwreck to retrieve the cement, which has hardened and deteriorated after decades underwater, in an attempt to recycle it and make use of it once again.
Imagine how desperate things have become: people are now searching the wreckage of ships that sank decades ago for whatever cement remains.

That story about Google killing hundreds of thousands of trees in Finland for its data center project is such a perfect microcosm of what capitalism is doing to our world.
Recent mass media headlines are saying the tech giant "illegally" cut down "250,000" trees, but both claims paint an inaccurate picture of what actually happened. Google killed 400,000 trees (250,000 near a town called Muhos and another 150,000 near the village of Otanmäki), and unless the company's executives actually wind up going to prison for this, their actions cannot properly be described as "illegal".
I don't know who first coined the saying "If the penalty is a fine, then it's legal for rich people," but it certainly applies here. The Finnish Licensing and Supervision Authority has reportedly ordered Google to suspend all “measures that significantly change the environment," saying it will "consider enforcement proceedings and fines" if the megacorporation does not comply. Google's parent company Alphabet has a net worth of around four trillion dollars. Whatever paltry penalties Finland might impose for these ecocidal actions, it won't have any meaningful effect on Google.
Giant corporations do this shit all the time. They calculate that the fines incurred by their abusive actions will be dwarfed by the massive profits they generate, issue fake apologies as needed, and leave it to their armies of lawyers to minimize the damage. That's why the Sackler family is still worth billions despite all the fines Purdue Pharma was slapped with while creating the US opiate epidemic.
A 2017 Harvard study titled “The Opioid Epidemic: Fixing a Broken Pharmaceutical Market" contains the following paragraph:
"Although civil claims and criminal charges were brought against Purdue and its executives, the resulting penalties paled in comparison to extended-release oxycodone profits. In May 2007, the company and its president, chief counsel, and former chief medical officer pled guilty to falsely marketing extended-release oxycodone as 'less addictive, less subject to abuse and diversion, and less likely to cause tolerance and withdrawal than other pain medications.' As part of the plea bargain, Purdue agreed to pay the federal government $600 million and 27 states $20 million. The three executives agreed to $34.5 million in fines but avoided jailtime. By contrast, Purdue has earned an estimated $31 billion in total revenues from extended-release oxycodone since its launch. Rather than deterring fraudulent marketing, the penalties simply became a cost of doing business."
A cost of doing business.
That's how things work under capitalism. The law primarily exists not to protect people or the environment, but to protect the interests of capital. If you destroyed a Google data center you'd probably be charged as a terrorist and spend decades in prison, but Google can destroy the natural world around you and get off with a finger wag and a symbolic fine. If you stole millions of dollars from your employer you'd go to prison for grand larceny, but if your employer steals millions from its employees you need to win a class action lawsuit to get back what they stole from you.
Proponents of capitalism often pretend they support minimal government intervention in civilian affairs, but their entire model is at all times propped up by state power using force to protect the haves from the have-nots at every level of our society. Corporations are free to destroy the environment, destroy your health, rob you, exploit you, and manipulate your government to their advantage, and if you ever take action to stand up to this world-devouring onslaught, the state will lock you in a cage.
In school we are taught that that the law exists to protect ordinary people from bad people, but that's not true at all. Under capitalism, the law exists to protect the very worst among us from everyone else. That's why we are seeing our planet being turned into dust and ashes for no reason other than shareholder profit.
It's an insane system, and it needs to end. These freaks are feeding our entire biosphere into the woodchipper.
