Just like opposing the U.S. government doesn't mean you hate America, especially when that government is abandoning American values.
Yes, there's a real concern that anti-Israel sentiment can very quickly turn into antisemitic sentiment. And we need to be vigilant. But that doesn't mean blind loyalty and purity tests and locking down free speech.
Jews are not monolithic; no people is. But we're a people that embrace nuance and erudition and free speech and thoughtful, passionate, learned, open debate. And we need that more than ever these days.
