I really want to leave this fascist trainwreck of a platform, but then I check in and there's posts from people I like, I'd hate to see them go.

I stay on this platform for a few accounts, but it is time consuming blocking all the random right wing accounts that occupy half the feed.

Got some new albums coming out starting October…both of Yara Asmar’s albums on a double album, new cassette from boycalledcrow and a gorgeous album of solo Gnawa from Maalem Houssam Guinia.

I sometimes think about Japanese excellence. For example, Japanese whisky is much better than the original, but Japanese coffee is very bad. Similarly, Japanese jazz is superior to American jazz, but Japanese pop music is garbage. What causes these big differences?

Updated my site with some new album recs. Tweeted about all these in the past month and wanted to write them down for posterity. Haven't mentioned the Hannibal Marvin Peterson LP though—Diedre Murray's cello on that is so beautiful.
