Dr. Ladapo, as Florida's Surgeon General and a coauthor of this study, you should understand the difference between association and causation.
Your study found higher 12-month mortality among Pfizer recipients than Moderna recipients. That's a finding worth investigating.
But your own paper acknowledges residual confounding, incomplete information about underlying medical conditions, and the possibility that Moderna provided greater protection against COVID and its complications.
Your investigators had no unvaccinated comparison group. They couldn't establish whether the difference reflected harm from Pfizer, benefit from Moderna, or differences between the populations.
Yet you've announced that thousands of Floridians died because they received Pfizer, and that nobody should receive an mRNA vaccine.
Both groups in your study received mRNA vaccines.
And your own limitations section explicitly acknowledges that the results cannot conclusively establish the cause of the mortality difference.
You've transformed an observational association into a declaration of mass vaccine deaths, then extrapolated it internationally without demonstrating causation.
Your study raises a legitimate scientific question. Your public statement pretends you've already answered it.
As physicians, especially those entrusted with public health, we have a responsibility to distinguish what the evidence suggests from what it actually proves.
As I said in January 2024, no one should be taking mRNA COVID-19 vaccines because of their terrible safety profile. But for those who had to take one, Florida’s public health data strongly implies that thousands of Floridians died as a result of receiving Pfizer instead of Moderna. The number of lives lost in the U.S. and internationally is staggering, based on this analysis. The culture of approving vaccines without adequate safety testing and assuming “innocent until proven guilty” with these products absolutely, positively needs to end.

You might want to forward this to your legal department

For care that FQHCs can’t handle, it’s time to standardize what non profit hospitals are required to do.
They are all required to offer Financial Assistance Plans to patients. As part of this alternative to reinstating the PTC, it’s time to require them to standardize those plans in a manner that supports those who lost the PTCs.
1st is pricing that is set at 150% of Medicare. Along with other pricing considerations for Jcode and hospital administered meds and standardized pricing for extended hospital stays. .
2nd is a financing plan that is also standardized. Make it the same for every hospital so that it is easy for everyone to understand and to know what to expect.
3. The patient financial thresholds should be standardized as well. It shouldn’t be different by hospital.
Notice I have not mentioned insurance premiums at all.
I don’t know the exact dollars that would be spent if the PTC was reinstated. So it’s hard to set numbers for everything right here. Plus there is a lot I’m sure the CBO would want to say.
Hopefully there is a way we can make premiums paid directly to the treasury.
Rather than having pre authorizations, we can use trad Medicare standards and that infrastructure to audit for fraud and abuse
Bottom line for all of this. We don’t need the big insurance companies any more. We can use FQHCs and clinics and others that are qualified and want to opt in to the same pricing (I should have included them in the previous tweet )
We can finally get value for the taxpayer subsidies that Non Profit Hospitals get. And BTW, if it were up to me, I would require them to publish every single contract they sign. It’s our money subsidizing them. Nothing they have contractually is proprietary. That’s a lie the big carriers force on the entire industry
As always, I know this is far from perfect. So all comments are welcome
Dr @hakeemjeffries here is what I would explore and test as an alternative to reinstating the PTC
1. Allow those who lost PTC, as a starting point for this test, to go to any FQHC or look alike, for $0. Support the facility with funding for more doctors/nurses and extended hours to cover the cost of more patients and zero direct revenue from them based on a formula and reporting
2. All FQHCS are eligible for 340b pricing. Fund 340b inventory for them, starting w those w their own pharmacy , with a line of credit at wholesalers , while requiring them to bill CMS or Treasury (legislation would be needed here ) their cost plus 10 pct for associated overhead. There would be $0 OOP to patient.
To get a prescription, the patient must be an ongoing patient of a doctor at the FQHC. YOU CANT JUST ASK FOR A PRESCRIPTION. The relationship must be ongoing. This prevents people from just using them for free meds.
3. FQHCS and look alikes are limited in the types of care they can offer. I would look closely at expanding their offerings. I would also look at expanding what communities they can be part of.
4. The FQHC would continue to offer the same pricing and services to non PTC eligible patients
4. For those who don’t know, FQHCS are non profit. More importantly, they are required to have 51 % of their board of directors be actual patients of the facility.
They don’t have a profit motive. As best I have seen, their interests align with patients from a care and cost perspective.
This isn’t perfect. But it’s far better than giving the big insurance companies free profits and allowing them to play doctor and deny care.

All thoughts are welcome.

To all our friends in the United States and around the world:
The Israeli people have voted for change and to replace the current government.
Our democracy remains strong and vibrant. We are working to fulfill the will of the Israeli people by forming a new government as soon as possible - a national emergency government.
I intend to bring new leadership to Israel, leadership that serves all Israelis. Together with my partners, we will build a stronger Israel: A Jewish and democratic Israel. An Israel that is committed to liberal values, equality for all and is confident in its future.
The bond between Israel and the United States is more than an alliance between governments. It is a partnership between peoples, built over generations, sustained by shared democratic values, and strengthened by the conviction that our nations are more secure and more prosperous when we stand together.
Under my leadership, we will renew and deepen that partnership, strengthen the bipartisan foundations that have long sustained it, and work with our allies to advance a Middle East defined not simply by the absence of conflict, but by the presence of opportunity and cooperation.
Israel will remain one of America’s most reliable and capable strategic partners in the Middle East, a partnership that is mutually beneficial for both peoples, in every aspect.
I look forward to working closely and constructively with President Trump and his administration, whose friendship and commitment to Israel we deeply value. Together, we can advance our shared security interests, strengthen regional stability, and open new doors to prosperity for the peoples of the Middle East.
That is the Israel I believe in. And that is the future we intend to build.
Hope we are prepared to manage this

The Department disagrees with the Magistrate’s decision, which remarkably appears to suggest that high-ranking government officials are immune from accountability for making materially false statements to Congress. We are evaluating all options but cannot comment further on an ongoing criminal investigation. The Department’s actions will continue to be guided by the facts, the evidence, and the law – not politics.

Teamsters General President Sean O’Brien here. Just voted in the State of Florida for the first time, and very proud to have cast a ballot for @SenAshleyMoody. Sen. Moody has been extremely helpful working with the Teamsters to protect workers’ pensions, defend good-paying jobs, and support well-funded union apprenticeship programs. The Teamsters look forward to working with Sen. Moody in her role on the Senate HELP Committee to pass the Faster Labor Contracts Act and get this critical legislation signed into law to protect American workers.

YES. Avenger systems with Stinger missiles were deployed near Mar-a-Lago (on a barge) and the nearby airport at Secret Service request. NORAD confirmed it. No specific threat was publicly identified.

A strong decision by the U.S. State Department – authorizing Ukraine’s purchase of Patriot interceptors to counter Russian ballistic missiles. Five hundred PAC-3 interceptors is a substantial number, and very soon – this winter – they COULD make for a highly effective defense package. However, it has been stipulated that deliveries may begin ONLY IN A FEW YEARS. We are asking our American partners to find a solution for the time when there is a real danger and a real need to use PAC-3 interceptors.
Right now, the Russians are attacking our energy infrastructure every single day. In just these past two weeks of October, there have already been more than 30 Russian strikes on critical parts of our power grid. It is right now, even before the beginning of winter, that Putin has started carrying out his operation to attack the systems that sustain life in our cities and communities. The targets are electricity, heating, water supplies, bridges, and life in our cities in general.
We did ask our American partners to provide Ukraine with a winter support package – at a rate of 100 Patriot interceptors per month. Five hundred missiles would be enough to protect our skies over the coming months – precisely when it is so important for Ukraine to be in a strong position in negotiations and for Russia NOT to succeed in breaking life in Ukrainian cities and communities.
The United States, our European partners, and other partners around the world have sufficient stocks of PAC-3 interceptors in their warehouses. Providing them to Ukraine right now – in the winter of 2026–2027 – and replenishing our partners’ arsenals LATER, in THE FOLLOWING YEARS, through this production already contracted and paid for by Ukraine and our partners would be the right approach. And it is entirely feasible.
We are grateful to President Trump. Importantly, we recently discussed PAC-3 interceptors with Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Ukraine is grateful to the U.S. State Department and the U.S. Administration overall for granting this authorization. But we are asking for decisions that can guarantee the protection of lives not the day after tomorrow or sometime later, but at the very moment the threat is there – when Russia is killing and destroying. I thank everyone who stands with Ukraine!
