Remember when the Liberals told us that their new bail bill would solve all the problems? It didn’t.
It’s easy to blame judges and lawyers. But the blame lays with those who make the law that those judges & lawyers interpret. That means the blame lays with us, Parliament.
Looks like we have further to go as legislators.

Store shelves in Regina and Southern Saskatchewan are seeing dramatic price increases in baby formula, which are costing families hundreds of dollars per month. Recently I presented a petition in the House of Commons calling for a Parliamentary committee to study the root cause of the price increases, whether it be tariffs, price-fixing, government regulations, or anything else. Once the root cause is known, then steps can be taken to make baby formula more affordable in order to ensure the health and well-being of infants and mothers. – at Ottawa, Ontario

VIA Rail is cutting Ottawa–Toronto trains this fall, and only about a third of them run on time. The Carney Liberal plans $3.9 billion for Alto that's still years away- and may never be built!Maybe get the existing train working first?

Years before construction begins, the PBO already estimates ALTO will cost $113 billion, tens of billions more than the Liberal government’s estimate.
I asked the Transport Minister a simple question: What is the cost ceiling for this project?
No answer.

Sgt. Morgan Wong, one of four soldiers tragically killed at CFB Wainwright earlier this month, was laid to rest in Edmonton over the weekend.
Sgt. Wong's sister spoke at his funeral:
"Long before he was the fearless soldier many of you came to know, he was one of the bravest and funniest people I’ve ever met. He was always making us laugh and he could always find a solution to any problem."

The removal of CEO Jimenez comes a few months after Joy MacPhail stopped being chair of the board.
Her time ended after she decided to buy new ferries from China.

My latest: there’s pain at the pump. Some of this is inescapable fallout from conflicts in the Middle East and Russia/Ukraine. But much of it is self-imposed. The clean fuel regulations cost 13.57 cents a litre for diesel and 12.24 cents a litre for gasoline. To add insult to injury, tax is charged on top of these costs. Even worse, to comply with them, refiners must blend in biofuels such as ethanol and biodiesel. Canada is not self-sufficient and imports over half of what it needs, predominantly from the US.
Somehow, in the middle of a trade war and an energy crisis, it has gone unnoticed that Canada — the aspiring energy superpower — has artificially made itself dependent on the United States for fuel.

Rather than taking responsibility for bad management, the Carney Liberals are privatizing adjudication and privatizing airports with zero transparency. This leaves the travelling public exposed to seeing more of their dollars pad someone’s corporate profits.
.@CTA_gc proved "incapable" of processing air passenger complaints despite 120 staff & millions in funding, @StevenMackinnon tells MPs as feds propose to privatize the system.

Airlines are calling plane swaps "safety maintenance" so they don't have to compensate passengers. The Liberals say they can't fix it, but they can change the rules without a vote and they have the numbers to pass a law. The power is there. What's missing is the will to use it.

There is a narrative out there that the current federal government has dramatically cut immigration. It’s false.
The average annual permanent immigration level under Trudeau (2016-2025, excluding the anomalous COVID year of 2020) was 381,000.
The new government has frozen annual levels at … 380,000.
Yes, it’s about 100,000 less than the highest Trudeau year (2024), BUT it’s still about 100,000 higher than the highest Harper year.
“Last year, the government said it would freeze the number of new permanent residents at 380,000 a year until 2028. It also cut the number of international students it planned to admit over the next three years in half.”

🚨 Conservative Motion in Parliament today 🚨
That given that,
(i) the cost of government is driving up the cost of living
(ii) the Parliamentary Budget Officer reports that this government's fastest-growing cost is interest on the national debt which has more than doubled since 2021
(iii) this Liberal government now spends more on debt interest than the Canada Health Transfer
(iv) an average family of four will pay nearly $6,000 in federal taxes toward interest on the national debt this year, based on numbers from the Parliamentary Budget Officer
(v) the Prime Minister promised that he would reduce the debt-to-GDP ratio and deficit-to-GDP ratio
the House call on the Prime Minister to appear as a witness before the Standing Committee on Finance to testify on saving Canadians money by cutting deficit spending, debt interest and taxes
The Air Passenger Protection Regulations keep costing more and more, yet rather than fix the system, the Liberals keep applying band aids.
Conservatives know that a blank cheque will not fix years of Liberal mismanagement. More accountability and transparency would be a start!

The Liberal government says it wants to buy Canadian and support veterans. Its words don’t match its actions.
A $12M CRA contract went to a U.S.-owned firm, not a Canadian non-profit employing veterans. Bids were less than 1% apart.
The government needs to fix its priorities.
