If Oas*s reform they should do just 2 things: play Definitely Maybe all the way through as loud as they possibly can. Play a bunch of Noel's b-sides. (I suppose they could play one of those dreadful songs from WTSMG if they have to). Then get out of there as fast as they can.

The development of Russell Brand into a powerhouse Christian intellectual is really something to see, isn’t it.

Here’s a nice clip of Stewart Lee singing The Go Betweens’ lovely Eight Pictures with The Girl With The Replaceable Head tonight. It was such a good gig, and I found it really inspiring! Didn’t take any other videos sadly. The new LP sounded incredible.

Our wonderful friend @DanCorns has made this wonderful, sharp, atmospheric new video for our song, Shooting the Moon, which is kind of about getting older, fading light, tending a garden. Thanks Dan!!!

Here is another overlong thread with a few thoughts on last night's @blurofficial show, which was obviously wonderful. I suppose this ramble serves as a kind of LP review too. Short version: hooray, it was utterly wonderful. Longer version follows...

A couple of days of living with the lovely new @blurofficial album and am predictably obsessed. Russian Strings is one of the most interesting things on it I think - heartfelt and intimate and wide ranging. Have been trying to draw out what Damon is saying - indulge me? – at South East, England

Without getting too hung up on intrusive biographical detail, it’s hard to resist trying to figure out what the location in St Charles Square tells us when trying to understand a fairly cryptic new @blurofficial song. Once again, it’s West London, of course.
Hawkstone Lager - unimaginably bland beer on a cellular level.

#ExtinctionRebellion made a powerful point in wealthy central London today. Rich consumers were left frustrated at not been able to reach some of their favourite stores and the drum bands played on as I watched residents in flats above throw water down on them. #ClimateCrisis
I do hope this tattoo on South African born American/British and now Slovakian Olympian Golfer Rory Sabbatini isn’t that of the Afrikaner nationalist symbol 🤭. #Olympics #olymipicgolf #bbcolympics

Enjoyed #TheBatterseaPoltergeist very much. What a well produced series and gripping ghost story. Can’t overcome the sceptic in me though - afraid that the ‘poltergeist’ really is just Shirley. It’s all very odd but considering what occurred I feel she must at some stage confess.
I sometimes wonder if @DAaronovitch is considering a follow up to Voodoo Histories.

For 4 years, the US has been governed by a man who was never up to the job, morally or intellectually. The scenes at the Capitol are the inevitable result of Trump’s mindless rabble-rousing. Just think how the anti-democrats in China & Russia must be rubbing their hands.

Hello Twitter. I’m very happy to announce my first poetry pamphlet is out today: ’To the virus, we are landscape' contains 21 short poems, it’s a lovely little paperback (44 pages) and if you’re interested in verse, you can get it here: bordercrossing.bigcartel.com
Piers Corbyn channels Churchill (ironically) in telling the cheering crowds in #TrafalgarSquare that “never in human history has a medical fraud been hoisted on so many people by so few”. He also led chants against the BBC and 5G. Kept quiet about climate change though.
