For anyone who is curious, the way to understand how my views connect is to understand that I place a higher priority than most people on negative liberty rights, which for me are the basis of veganism, antinatalism, legalizing assisted suicide, and libertarian-leaning politics. Veganism: leave animals alone as far as reasonably possible. Antinatalism: don’t bring others into existence without their consent. Legalizing assisted suicide: we don’t have a choice to be born; we should have a right to die reliably and peacefully. Politics: too complicated to elaborate on, but very briefly, prioritize individuals’ rights to be left alone and do what they choose, as long as they are not harming others. Mix pragmatism and prosperity with negative liberty rights, and you roughly get my politics. (At least some of you will remember this post from the past. It was broken into three posts before due to the 280-character limit. I thought I’d repost it as one post now that I released myself from the 280-character cage.)

True. Peace through strength is the only way. Appeasement just encourages enemies to prey on you. And fuck third worlders, communists, Islamists, shitlibs, and the fringe right wing. I don’t care what those degenerates think.
I think the biggest delusion among some Israeli candidates is that they truly think they can "rehabilitate Israel's image internationally". That if only Netanyahu leaves, Israel will be accepted again. Israel isn't hated by third worlders, communists, islamists, shitlibs and the fringe right wing simply because of Netanyahu or Ben Gvir or any other individual. Israel is hated by these groups for being Israel. They hate Israel for being a Jewish state that exists at all, not because of whichever PM who leads it. They hate the concept of Jews having a state in the first place. Everything else is just secondary. Even if you elect someone who wants to give away the entire Holy Land and reduce Israel to a Tel Aviv city state only, these idiots will still hate you. You need to work from a position of strength and respect and being feared by your enemies, not desperately trying and failing to be liked by the West, which thanks to mass immigration will always be a hostile place now.

Other than serious austerity over a couple of decades, the best way out of this situation is Elon’s prediction of hyper-abundance from AI-driven robots providing goods and services 24/7/365. Robots don’t need wages, healthcare, time off, or pensions, just routine maintenance and replacement, which they might be able to perform on each other. But that is very optimistic. If robots are that productive, humans will need to fill our time in prosocial ways other than work, which might be a painful transition.
If you care about your future and the future of the ones you love then you need to address this honestly. Time is running out and as hard as they might try, Elon and men like him can't save us from this.

It would be hilarious if it wasn’t tragic. Also, Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign spent 3 times more than Trump’s campaign in the 2024 election. Democrats have no problem with billionaires giving hundreds of millions of dollars to their own party and campaigns; they only have a problem with Republicans doing it. 🤡
Oh, I don't know, maybe he did it because you're running on a platform of "let's take all of Elon Musk's stuff and throw him in the gulag"?

A reminder that an underrated argument for libertarianism is that you’d experience less anxiety about elections if the state had less power.

All to say that no generation has it good, which is yet another reason to be #childfree. It’s a win-win for parents and potential offspring.
Replying to @QueenAnticommie
Gen Z. They grew up with smartphones and social media from early childhood, driving record rates of depression, anxiety, and loneliness that far exceed prior generations. COVID lockdowns hit during key developmental years, disrupting school and peer bonds. Add active-shooter drills, high housing costs relative to income, and student debt pressures. Boomers faced Vietnam drafts and polio; Gen X latchkey life and peak crime; Millennials 9/11 and the recession. Physical safety and medicine improved for Gen Z, yet the mental health toll stands out as uniquely severe.

The problem is that 99% of humans care very little about ethics or morality. The fact that vegans are ignored or disrespected proves it. What passes for “morality” is nothing more than social, legal, and religious conformity. If sex with minors was as socially accepted in America as it has been or is in some parts of the world, Americans would take part enthusiastically and ignore or disrespect those of us who advocated against it.
Do you care about ethics?

I don’t post much about #Colorado politics because I have very few, if any, Colorado followers. I’m making an exception because this issue is common across the country. Amendment 87 is a ballot measure to drastically increase state income tax. If it passes, Colorado will dive even deeper into economic dysfunction as successful individuals and small and medium sized businesses leave or avoid the state. As the article points out, many or most of the businesses that would be impacted by A87 don’t pocket the profits, but reinvest them into the business to hire more employees and create more wealth in the state. Colorado has already gone from being in the top ten most business friendly states to 25th. A87 would push Colorado down to near the bottom. #copolitics denvergazette.com/2026/10/27…

I don’t believe that demons or anything supernatural exists. But I do believe that cultures vary tremendously in their moral value, with some cultures being good and other cultures repugnant. Drug and gang cultures are among the most repugnant, and go hand in hand. I also believe that a culture or environment of extreme tolerance is an incubator for repugnant cultures to grow into dangerous cultural cesspools. Democrats and the left have implemented extreme, excessive tolerance. The cultural cesspools of Skid Row and similar zombie zones are the result. What LA and America need is an electorate that refuses to accept this extreme, dysfunctional tolerance and insists on a Nayib Bukele clean up of our institutions, especially the corrupt, deplorable American judiciary. Unfortunately, the electorate is almost as culturally repugnant in its excessive tolerance as the zombies themselves.
I hate to be this cynical, but I’ll be honest…running for Mayor exposes you to things that make you believe the city is actually being overtaken by demonic energy. Drive south Fig at night. Go to 6th and San Pedro. You see children openly prostituting, drug zombies setting dogs and cats on fire, babies born to crackheads and tossed in a dumpster, dead people just lying in the streets…that’s not even to mention the dozen neighbors of ours who burned alive in what is now a crumbled hellscape. Many times I wondered if the city’s problems weren’t beyond the reach of any politician’s capacity to actually fix. There is a cultural and spiritual rot that can’t be fixed at the ballot box. Until we fix the culture, we are kinda just rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic and the shit we shovel around every 4 years doesn’t really mean a thing.

This is the real fight of our era. On one side: the people. Common sense. Merit. Order. Today it has a face: Elon Musk. That's exactly why they're trying so hard to destroy him. On the other side: chaos, collectivism, corruption, violence. That has a face too: Alex Soros, celebrating Lula's win as Brazil "standing up against authoritarianism." Let's talk about that victory over authoritarianism. Right as polls were closing at 5pm, a Supreme Court justice, Cristiano Zanin, Lula's former personal lawyer, ordered every polling station in the country to stay open two more hours. After a request from Lula's campaign. Going around the electoral court that normally handles this. Something no court in Brazil had ever done before. Lula had lost the first round. He won the runoff. If that's what fighting authoritarianism looks like, I'd hate to see the real thing. Here's the deeper point. Communism has never worked. Not once, anywhere. And globalism, progressivism, whatever they're calling it this decade, is the same project in a nicer suit: more central control, less individual freedom, a small unaccountable elite deciding for everyone else. A project that doesn't work can only end two ways. Either it collapses into chaos and drags the West into self-destruction with it. Or the West wakes up: a return to order, and a renaissance. Don't expect them to go quietly. For them this is existential. They'll bend every rule, cheat wherever they can, use every institution they still control. Because the day they truly lose, everything they've buried comes out. This is the fight. Pick your side.
Lula Lula Lula! Congrats to Brazil for standing up against authoritarianism once again! 🇧🇷 ⚖️✌️

Let’s make sure the entire world understands. In Brazil, judicial rulings in connection with federal elections are made by the court that has been in place for that very purpose, the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE). @LulaOficial requested to the TSE that the polls be extended by two more hours in the entire country, citing “transportation problems.” Who controls the transport system? Lula’s government surely more so than a senator running for president. Instead of waiting for a TSE ruling. @LulaOficial immediately asked Brazilian Supreme Court (STF) justice @Cristianozaninm to order the polls remain open WITHOUT any TSE ruling. Within minutes (did Zanin even read the filing?), the polls were ordered to remain open by Zanin. The STF has 11 justices. What did Zanin do before becoming an STF justice? Oh yes, he was Lula’s criminal defense lawyer in his corruption cases. If this blatant rigging of the elections will be used to announce that Lula won, is Lula seriously expecting anyone in the international community to recognize that as a free and fair election? He knows nobody will. Has the desperation reached a point that today is the day the mask fully comes off and Lula becomes the next Nicolas Maduro? For the sake of Brazil, I pray that is not the case.

Highly recommend reading Sowell’s work, starting with: Basic Economics (easy to understand and written for a general audience) A Conflict Of Visions (foundational work that explains conflicting visions of human nature underlying disagreements between conservatives and progressives; more academic; not as much written for a general audience) Knowledge And Decisions (foundational work that explains and provides evidence that systems relying on decentralized choice and direct feedback, like competitive markets, consistently outperform centralized systems that rely on the authority of experts; more academic; not as much written for a general audience) The Thomas Sowell Reader (many articles across (almost?) every topic Sowell has written about; easy to understand and written for a general audience at least in part to help prevent misunderstandings of his work) Sowell’s books on race, culture, and society are also excellent.
Thomas Sowell grew up poor in Harlem and spent his twenties as a Marxist. A job inside the federal government ended that. Asked what changed his mind, he gave a one-word answer: "facts." Chicago sharpened the habit, with Milton Friedman teaching him, and he carried it through more than 45 books and a column in over 150 newspapers. From housing to the minimum wage, he checked what policies did and ignored what their authors promised. His most famous line sits in A Conflict of Visions: "There are no solutions. There are only trade-offs." Politicians hate that sentence because it puts everyone selling solutions out of work. Every program has a price, and voters rarely pay it. Sowell lived by it. When the Reagan administration put him on an economic advisory committee, he resigned after the first meeting. He pointed to Friedman's view that some individuals "contribute more by staying out of government." He retired from writing in December 2016 at 86 and turned 96 this June. His method fits on an index card: skip the promises, check the results. Now go ahead and do that with your local ruling class.

If, by the way, the same situation that just happened in Brazil had happened but with the parties switched -- if Bolsonaro had won last night's election and then a pro-Bolsonaro judge sent the Federal Police to seize Lula's passport and bar him from leaving the country -- every major western media outlet and liberal NGOs would be screaming about the authoritarian attack on Brazil's elections and the destruction of basic freedoms.
One day after Lula was declared the winner of Brazil's elections, his opponent -- Sen. Flavio Bolsonaro -- just had had his passport seized by the Federal Police. Theose police were sent by notorious tyrant Judge Alexandre de Moraes. What a lovely democratic image.

If Amendment 87 passes, Colorado’s top income tax rate jumps from 4.4% to 8.4% making it the 9th highest in the country. Businesses will leave. Jobs will leave. Investment will leave. This is how you kill a state’s economy. Vote NO on Amend 87. (Tweet by DoBetterDNVR and not authorized by any candidate or committee)
The non-partisan tax foundation found that high income taxes hurt growth. It’s critical that Colorado voters reject Amendment 87 which would make Colorado the 9th highest taxed state. It’s not to late to vote No on amendment 87

Ruffalo has the history backward. The New Deal borrowed fascist economics rather than fighting them. The 1933 the National Recovery Administration put American industry under government codes fixing prices, wages, and output, the corporatist structure of Mussolini's system, and Mussolini praised FDR's program as kindred to his own. The Nazi party's paper commended Roosevelt's economic measures in the same years. The Supreme Court struck it down 9 to 0 in 1935. Fascism and socialism are both variants of collectivism, so one cannot cure the other. And the scapegoating he condemns runs through his antidote too. FDR named his scapegoats economic royalists and ran against them as a class. The antidote to fascism is individual rights and a government limited to protecting them. I suggest Ruffalo book a one-way ticket to Brazil. The country just voted for everything he wants. Why does he stay in a country that represents everything he despises?
This is the best article of why Lula was able to turn it around. Populist FDR style “New Deal” policies in the country, the people of Brazil appreciate. This is the antidote to the right wing populism, oligarch/fascist fkry, consolidation of wealth and power, and use of hatred scapegoating the politically weak and marginalized people. This is to fascism what garlic is to vampires. FDR knew it and used it to beat back the rise of the Fascist NAZI movement in the USA in the 30s. It’s time for a New, New Deal. aljazeera.com/opinions/2026/…
