What a way to start the year!
Days Gone didn't disappoint. Its setting and mechanics are instantly appealing for post-apocalyptic fans. And some of its design even reminded me of RDR2.
Though some important (and awesome) stuff is bizarrely hidden in the post-credit content.
My last Spooktober game.
Daemonologie has you play as a witchhunter sent to a small village to conduct a short investigation. Frictionless due to its length & simplicity, it's heavily carried by its striking art style, and very easy to recommend if you're into weird stuff.
Been playing Dead Format for the past couple days. Really cool concept where environments are introduced by the VHS tapes you find lying around.
It's got some issues mechanically, but one thing it absolutely nails is atmosphere. Love the analog aesthetic (this is the 1st hub).
Normalise laughing at anyone who gets their gaming stuff for free yet still feels they can criticise those who actually spend their own cash, just because they didn't buy a game they could access via a subscription they're already paying for.
These dudes' opinions are worthless.
Dude really is shameless lmao

You out of all people shouldn't be talking about "support", when you get free stuff all the time & flown out for events. I see where you get the "Free" in your handle...

Israeli actress Chelli Goldenberg said she is no longer proud to be Israeli during a live interview.
After discovering the conversation was broadcast live, she expressed shock and later apologized for her remarks.
Went in looking for weird. Didn't leave disappointed.
Servant of the Lake is a stylish point & click game with remarkable twisted undertones, even if some of its puzzles are infuriating (though it might just be cause I'm too dumb, and believe me there's a case to be made there).
Well deserved. One of the best games of the year.
So @XBOX seemingly wants to change public perception around their brand, yet their highest profile game comes out and they can't even scrape up enough reviews for the score on their own platform to show up.
This is a pathetic look lmao

For every game I request, the Xbox version is available last. Usually a 2-5 day penalty for playing the Xbox version.
A lot of Xbox codes come in a few days after public release, when other counterparts were available two weeks earlier.
Full completion, all mementos gathered, all endings unlocked.
What an excellent, *excellent* survival horror metroidvania. Silver Pines wears its inspirations on its sleeve, but does so while still keeping its own identity and standing on its own two feet.
More of this please.
Some studios aren't worth keeping. Some are.
I begrudgingly accepted @XBOX letting go of Undead Labs.
I begrudgingly understand Ninja Theory's situation, though I think they're very talented & would do well if properly managed.
I will not understand shutting down Arkane Lyon.

Never happy to see studios close, but I also think we often get too fixated on studio names rather than individuals.
Not sure if that info is readily available, but I'd be genuinely curious to see how many of the old BioWare still remained at the studio for these past few years.
How much?
'the price of the [Xbox] Helix console has internally been projected to cost consumers between $1,200 and $1,800, unless Microsoft decides to subsidize the cost'
-Game Pass planning major overhaul (a la carte)
-next-gen handheld by 2027 holidays, console 2028 holidays
