Happy Birthday to magician #JohnDee! 🎂#EdwardKelley, his companion in these pictures was, it seems, once a prisoner at #lancastercastle and had parts of his ears cut off a punishment for forgery! #magic #witchcraft #necromancy #WaltonleDale #lancashire #lancaster #darkhistory
John Dee - occultist, mathematician, astronomer, astrologer and Queen Elizabeth's very own magician - was born today in 1527.
These eerie images (c.1825/ 1790) show Dee and Edward Kelly under a gothic moon communing with a spirit in a cemetery by night. As you do.

Today in 1893 - Perhaps surprisingly, William Campbell was the only fatality among over 200 workmen employed in the erection of the famous Blackpool Tower.
He is buried in this communal grave in Layton Cemetery, Blackpool. @LancsRetweet @JulietteGregson @Diane6646 @Liam_HPG 🪦 – at Blackpool, England
