Unfortunately, some Catholics struggle to grasp that the faith is not the possession of any single culture. The Gospel is universal: it can take root in every culture, engaging and transforming each without requiring its erasure: catholicweekly.com.au/cathol…

Faith can be embodied in all cultures, because it does not identify itself with any of them in a specific one. It dwells within them, shaping them from within according to the “form” of Jesus Christ; that is, through charity, service and the filial recognition of God’s fatherhood. In this way, the Church draws from the various cultures all that is good, beautiful and true, in order to embody and transmit the message of the Gospel. #GeneralAudience

In Nagasaki, sitting at the desk used by St Maximilian Kolbe during his six years at the Franciscan friary. Five years later his life would end in Auschwitz where he gave his life for another prisoner. To sit here is to feel the weight of history, faith & extraordinary sacrifice
“Above all, the central proclamation of the presence & love of the Risen Christ; the inner experience of his presence & love, sparked by that proclamation; & finally, the beginning of a journey of knowing & loving Christ, made possible by the recipient’s…free and sincere heart”
Kerygma kerygma kerygma “Added to this is the need to rethink how we proclaim the Gospel, prioritizing narrative forms over the mere transmission of abstract concepts. This effort is essential for preparing each human heart (cf. Mt 13:3–8) for an authentic encounter”
“For this very reason, the transmission of the faith today requires, in a particular way, the evangelization of adults and a move beyond pastoral ministry focused solely on the catechesis of children and adolescents” - Venite Ad Me 41-42.
