The Irish football community is mourning the passing of Joey Chad at just 20 years of age.
A talented and much-loved footballer, Joey represented clubs including Bohemians, Bluebell United and Old County whilst earning a professional contract at Ytterhogdals in Sweden in 2025, a testament to both his ability and potential.
The tributes that have already poured in speak volumes about the person he was and the impact he had on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Thoughts and prayers are with Joey’s family, friends, former teammates, coaches, and everyone affected by this devastating loss.
The services in Ireland for children with special needs is already an absolute disgrace and has been for a very long time.
SNAs don’t get the credit they deserve I’ve seen it first hand how kind,loving and important they are to a child’s development in life.
