You’ve all been asking for the video. This is the moment I detained an assault suspect who was out-running police officers in Swindon on Sunday. 27-year-old local man Dale Jones has since been charged with assault by beating and possession of a class A drug. #ProtectTheProtectors
Perhaps the real story here is that Andrew routinely uses other news organisations’ content in his TikTok videos rather than producing his own original journalism.
He takes legitimate reporting (including photos), repackages the information into a script, then adds his own (1/4)
As local news budgets shrink and misinformation spreads, independent creators are stepping up to keep communities informed.
With more than half a million followers, TikToker Andrew Barton is passionate about local journalism.
Channel 4 News asked him to investigate what the future of local news looks like and whether new government funding can help keep it alive.
Why not approach an actual journalist who gathers news, produces original reporting and creates their own imagery to make this video?
This isn’t the future of journalism. Repeatedly using other people’s copyrighted work without permission puts his account at risk. (3/4)
(4/4) I’d strongly urge any news professional affected by the unlawful use of their work to take appropriate action. We should not be ignoring it. It’s concerning that the @Channel4News news team didn’t pick up on this. The way he operates is quite obvious from his videos.

Someone has been arrested in connection with the death of Ann Widdecombe - that means publishing anything, including posts on X, which risks seriously prejudicing a trial, is an offence. It also doesn’t help her friends and family in obtaining justice. Link in next post…
Surely losing your police hat results in a cake fine??? 🤣 I found this in a country lane in rural Wiltshire last night.
Given it’s a cake fine for getting papped by me without a hat on at a job, I can only imagine the level of cake fine for this…

2026 brings new drone regulations — some good, some bad. For me, it means an upgrade from the mini series to an Air 3S. It’s a heavier and more capable drone with a much better camera.
A tragic story this. I attended the scene this morning (my photos featuring in this Daily Mail article). Hopefully investigators get to the bottom of what happened here. Awful.

I continue to feel disturbed by my one of my competitor's inane decision to take a photograph of a dead body and publish it in a live blog. The man had been struck by a HGV and was lying in the road motionless. The publication is owned by a large media group and regulated. (1/5)
(4/5) Some will argue that publishing any imagery of serious/fatal collisions is not sensitive - but it is the role of the press to document such tragic events on our roads. Great care is taken when I am at a scene to ensure nothing graphic or indecent is broadcast to the world.
A tragic tale, and my thoughts are with Harley's family.
Having launched just four days ago, this was State Six News' first major story in the national press - making the headline spot on the Daily Mail website. Verified information provided allowed the Mail to break it.
Last week I was invited by Wiltshire Police to meet new search dog Dexter and his handler Vicki.
Here's a behind the scenes photo of me capturing a portrait (left) and the end result (right). There's no doubt this photo will end up in a frame somewhere. 🥰

I’ve spent the past few days shadowing @DanielJaeWebb in Wiltshire (and just across the border!). It’s certainly been busy with numerous incidents, including 2 serious RTCs, a suspected arson and an armed pursuit.
