ALT Active weather returns! Thursday night into Friday night: A weather system will move into western Washington bringing lowland rain and mountain snow to the area. Mountain snow will be heavy at times. Saturday morning: A colder air mass will move into the region, bringing increasing potential for some lowland areas to see wintry precipitation. Uncertainty remains in regards to when a transition from rain to snow could occur, however some spots could see snow or a rain and snow mix starting early Saturday morning. Periods of heavy snow continues for the mountains. Saturday afternoon into Sunday: Wintry precipitation will be possible across the lowlands with temperatures slowly becoming colder. The best potential for lowland snow or a rain and snow mix is during the overnight and morning hours. Periods of snow will continue for the mountains. Monday into next week: An active weather pattern continues with colder temperatures and additional chances for wintry precipitation areawide.
