This is worrying. Gilt yield rises mean a higher debt interest bill. The OBR says a 1% rise in gilt yields could add £9.6bn to government debt interest payments which could end up more than wiping out any additional funding for capital projects...
Deplorable statement. If anything he should have apologised for not getting a grip with drug gangs that result in misery and death for far too many youths. At a human level it must be awful to loose a son this way but a little humility and self reflection is needed.
