Food bank visits in Toronto have more than quadrupled since 2019. 1 in 8 Toronto children now rely on a food bank. That's nearly double the rate just four years ago. Thursday's budget has one job: save Canadians money so they can afford to put food on the table. Demand an affordable life: conservative.ca/cpc/save-you…

In the real world, Canadians can’t afford anything. Food, fuel, rent, mortgages. Mark Carney promised to make it better. Everything is worse. Today, he and the Liberals are distracting Canadians again with yet another grand summit about Europe. Big talk. What’s the result? Not one tariff reduced. Not one of the nine European holdout countries has ratified the trade agreement Canada already has with them. Barriers to Canadian beef and pork exports to Europe remain. And now the EU is threatening a carbon tariff on Canadian steel, aluminum, cement and other goods. Worse, there was lots of talk at the summit about aligning Canada with the insane European taxes, debt, immigration and anti-oil and gas policies that have left parts of Europe bankrupt and burning. Does any of this lower your mortgage payments, rent, grocery bills or gas prices, back here in the real world? Of course not. Time to get real. We have mouths to feed. Bills to pay. Crime to stop. Borders to secure. And money to save.

Repeal the Liberal tanker ban. Let’s get shipping oil by rail to Prince Rupert in the next two years. It will boost our paycheques, our dollar, and our economic independence.
Alberta supports Conservative MP David McKenzie’s Bill C-264 to repeal the federal Oil Tanker Moratorium Act and remove barriers preventing our responsibly produced energy from reaching global markets. Repealing the ban would open the door to crude-by-rail exports through Prince Rupert, giving Alberta another route to reach customers around the world. Our oil to the United States is selling at a significant discount at a disadvantage to the entire country. The only effective way to close that gap is to increase exports off our western coast and get more customers competing for our energy. For decades, limited access to tidewater has left Alberta heavily dependent on a single customer, putting our oil at a competitive disadvantage and reducing the value of our resources. The Trans Mountain Expansion has helped open new markets, particularly in Asia, but we need more pipelines and more access to tidewater. Pacific Link will help increase our export capacity, but we also need to remove the federal tanker ban to unlock opportunities through Prince Rupert. Global demand for energy continues to grow, and Alberta has the resources to help meet it. Alberta holds the fourth-largest proven oil reserves in the world, and developing those resources benefits all Canadians. They help fund hospitals, schools, critical infrastructure and social programs across the country, while creating long-term economic opportunities for Indigenous communities through investment and co-ownership in major projects. Canada cannot become a global energy superpower while federal policies continue to stand in the way of getting our energy to the world. Repealing the tanker ban is an important step toward securing better prices for our resources and building a stronger, more prosperous Canada.

Liberal housing agency is blaming Liberal immigration for housing shortage. The Liberals added five new people for every new home and then wondered why we had a housing shortage. Now Carney wants to increase immigration even more, while homebuilding falls 4%. So out of touch. Corporate powerbrokers will profit from higher rents. Canadians will pay.

Mark Carney will raise gas taxes while Canadians are already paying more at the pumps and facing the worst food inflation among G7 countries. Canadians need relief, not more Liberal tax hikes. Take all taxes off gas until Canada Day to save 25 cents a litre and up to $1,200: conservative.ca/cpc/zero-tax…

Relieved to hear that the police officer shot this morning in Toronto is going to make a full recovery. Thank you to the officers who responded and apprehended the suspect. This dangerous rise in violence must end. We need stronger laws that keep dangerous criminals behind bars and protect the police officers who put themselves in harm’s way to keep our communities safe.

Double the shootings. More impunity. Criminals on the loose. The Carney Liberals will not clear up the mess they made. Conservatives will scrap Liberal bail, deport visiting criminals, and lock up offenders to restore safe streets.
