I’ll start jumping on sales opportunities when the salespeople, whose job is specifically to sell stuff while I do my non-sales job, start sharing the commissions
Something no one tells you when you're 20yo: MD at an investment bank = sales Partner at a consulting firm = sales Partner at a law firm = sales CEO at a startup = sales Partner at a VC firm = sales CEO at a AI lab = sales Sales is the lifeblood of any company, something I feel Europeans need to be reminded of more often than Americans.

They did not like it
Gonna be a real interesting experiment depriving Americans of two of their favorite things - cheap goods and cheap money.

Today I learned that Agent Orange, which killed my father, has possible next-generation effects. So that’s my evening done
I didn’t tear up until I went back and watched this video of Josh Turek pulling his wheelchair up the stairs to talk with a neighbor. How do you not root for a guy like that?

Yes this was tried in the 18th century. It started a political movement called Everything That Has Happened Since Then
Has anyone done this same thing with Christianity or Islam or whatever, like purging it of all its supernatural elements to create a generic humanist philosophy separate from the religion itself? I think you could emerge with something nearly identical to western Buddhism.

Trump literally promised $5,000 checks if Republicans win
We brought in a gazillion foreigners who will vote for whoever gives foreigners free shit, registered them to vote, and you’ll never guess what happened next

Guy said Envision and I kept reading waiting to see how the metaphor applies to a drop-down. STILL HERE BABY
Envision Texas as a guy in late middle age, sitting at a bar, paunchy and stooped, still wearing his high school letter jacket (varsity d-line, 1985) and a cowboy hat. He's here every night, living on a disability check from an oilfield job he last worked a decade ago, and now he regales the other regulars about his days playing ball, riding in the rodeo, and being a roughneck. But now he's pale and soft and only ever smiles when he's speaking in the past tense. His sons all work gig jobs and live in apartments with roommates despite being in their 30s; he seldom sees them. He'll down ten beers before he leaves and needs them to sleep now. His doctor told him to cut back, but he can barely understand the guy, what with the accent and all. Deep down, he knows he's k!lling himself, though he can't consciously acknowledge it. But man, it was great back in the day. Don't mess with Texas.

They STILL believe god only answers THEIR prayers
It's already happening. I'm literally sending out a prayer that President Trump stays safe from these lunatics. Alexsandr fucking Dugin reposted this

I’m an ancient historian, not a political pundit, but my two cents. With the richest man failing to earn political prestige at home, I expect Musk will now attempt to lead an army into Parthia.

A lot of people on here are saying “Republicans shouldn’t have crashed the economy and started an unnecessary war in the Middle East.” Should the bird not fly south in the winter? Should the wolf not leave the pack to seek its mate?

It’s not a day for gloating but celebrating democracy. Still I have to take some credit: it was my write-in vote for Mikhail Bakunin that crashed the Westchester voting system

Bo Jackson. The answer will always be Bo Jackson
You can give one athlete a completely injury-free career. Every injury they ever suffered is erased. You get to see how great they could’ve been. Who are you choosing?

This is one of those questions that sounds open-ended but only has one correct answer: Bo Jackson.
