Cornish Sons
From Bodmin’s keep and Truro’s streets,
From cliffs and mines and fishing fleets,
They left the granite and the sea
To stand where freedom would not yield.
In nineteen fourteen’s early days
The DCLI took up the ways
Of mud and wire and endless rain,
On Flanders fields and Somme’s domain.
Through Ypres and the long retreat,
Through Passchendaele’s drowning beat,
Cornish boots in foreign clay
Marched further than their homes that day.
Four thousand and more of them fell,
Yet still the light they carried held.
A generation later still
The same badge answered England’s call.
From Dunkirk’s beaches they withdrew,
Then crossed again in forty-two
To desert, Italy, and more,
And in the summer of forty-four
The Fifth Battalion, Cornish-born,
Stepped onto Norman sand at dawn.
At Cheux and on Hill One-Twelve
They earned the name that Cornwall knows,
Where Cornish Hill still marks the ground
That Cornish blood once held and owned.
They were miners’ sons and farmers’ boys,
Fishermen who left the noise
Of breakers on the Cornish shore
For silence that would sound no more.
No marble makes them less the stone
That shaped the land they called their own.
So when the poppies fall each year
And names are spoken, soft and clear,
Remember not just “the regiment”
But Cornwall’s own who came and went.
The Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry
Still marches in the memory
Of every ridge and every lane
Where Cornish hearts once felt the strain.
We do not need to make them more
Than what they were when they went to war.
We only need to keep them true
To the soil and sea that shaped them too.
Lest we forget the Cornish dead
Who answered when their country said.

Don’t fund indolent Somalians to have more children on universal credit in social housing, do fund the abolition of student interest for young British graduates.
That feels like a fair swap to me.
The EU definitely needs the money,
Hence why in 2023 they found a way to dodge paying for a bridge in Cornwall they had agreed to fund.
Cornwall Council used the contractor already on site building the A30 works and landscaping at Chiverton. Same site, cheaper, safer, faster – no need to bring in a whole new team and risk delays or higher costs.
But that was ruled irregular under EU procurement rules because they didn’t put it out to more tenders. Result? The European Commission never released the money. Over £2.1m clawed back.
They still control the rules and will find any reason not to pay once we’ve left. Tiny bit of “red tape”, big bill for Cornwall.
Conservative government didnt care at the time,
Lets vote @RestoreBritain and stay well away from the EU.

This is why we need a Restore government. The British people deserve British jobs
The era of out politicians using our country as an international marketplace is going to end
Just one in five new jobs created over the past decade went to Britons, new report reveals, with the vast majority taken by migrant workers from outside the EU trib.al/9X7pGEq

Various members of those appalling Conservative governments have labelled Restore Britain extremists or whatever else.
Rees-Mogg, Nadine Dorries, Boris Johnson and some.
My view? What they inflicted on our country was the real extremist policy.
Unfettered immigration from the third world, COVID lockdowns, vaccine passports, record taxes, outrageous debt, the spread of DEI.
A betrayal, on so many levels.
They had the majority, they failed - astonishingly, many are now helping to lead Reform.
And then those same people have the cheek to insult and abuse Restore Britain?
To be honest, after what they did to our country, I don't know how they sleep at night.
Restore Britain volunteers were active in Penzance yesterday, speaking with residents and distributing campaign material. Thank you to everyone who took the time to engage.

Grok read the tweets and drew Cornwall.
Westminster read the same county and called it a fantasy.

Labour’s Nature Minister Jenny Riddell-Carpenter told conference that a Britain of warm ale, a black Labrador at your feet and a country pub is a “far-right fantasy that never really existed.”If that’s the test, most of Cornwall just got reclassified.
Drive through St Just, St Mawes, Camelford, Lostwithiel, Padstow in winter, or any number of villages off the A30.
The pub isn’t a postcard,It’s often the last place left open after the shop, the post office and the bus have gone. It’s where people collect parcels, hear who’s poorly, find out who’s hiring, and have a pint that actually belongs to the place. Some of them still function as the unofficial village shop.
That is not a fantasy. It is how a lot of this county still holds together.Calling that “far right” doesn’t make it political. It just shows how far some in Westminster have drifted from the places they claim to represent.
A black Labrador in a Cornish pub is not an ideology. It’s Tuesday.
After being caught out by old tweets, she said she doesn’t think pubs and Labradors are far right.
Then don’t describe the ordinary life of rural Britain as a dangerous nostalgia that “never existed” and that we “don’t want to have.” You can’t smear the picture and then pretend you only meant fox-hunting wallpaper.
Cornwall doesn’t need lectures about which bits of its own culture are acceptable.
It needs it's pubs that can stay open, communities that aren’t treated as a problem to be redesigned, and politicians who don’t flinch when they see a dog, a pint and a village that still looks like itself.
If liking that makes us far right, then say so plainly. Most of the county already knows what it is.

I am not going to pretend an Afghan, Palestinian or Iranian terrorist who broke into our country and was fraudulently handed a British passport by our corrupt establishment is as British as you or I.
They may hold a piece of paper. They may be technically a British citizen, but they are not British in any meaningful sense.
In fact, a Restore Britain Government will take the appropriate steps to remove that piece of paper, and then remove them from our country.
A mass review of citizenships granted will be undertaken - we will forensically root out fraud, deception and crimes against our people, and those found guilty will be stripped of their British passport and deported.
New bilateral agreements will be forged to make this a legal reality.
Our aim is straightforward.
Restore that sacred link between British citizenship and Britishness.
Because that link has been severed to the bone.
It must be restored.

A Cornwall town council is asking people from way outside its own boundary to help fund a new play area, after the National Lottery couldn't come through 🗺️👇
cornishstuff.com/latest-news…
Indeed, this is worrying. Lottery funding used to be for sports and heritage projects , and it should of course be opened up to restoring wildlife heritage too.
Instead we can see the money going to migrant and refugee projects. Over £143 million since 1994, and more than £114 million in the last five years alone.
This is a situation to watch. Maybe it’s time to stop doing the lottery.

Lib Dem voters need to look at what they actually voted for.
Piddington is living with the consequences, their MP is in hiding. Meanwhile another Lib Dem MP is complaining that harbourmasters wouldn’t let RNLI boats carrying illegal migrants dock. He wants them processed quicker. That’s not a one-off.
Only one way the @RestoreBritain
Way
I'm deeply concerned that @RNLI lifeboats were recently turned away from two ports, Portsmouth and Southampton.
I've demanded that the Government explains why harbourmasters were allowed to turn away lifeboats that are there to save lives.

20.9% of Brits aged 16-64 are 'economically inactive' - that means they're not in or looking for work.
That's over nine million people.
Unsustainable, unworkable, unacceptable.
Today a village of about 350 people in Oxfordshire is holding a referendum on leaving the UK.
Not because they suddenly discovered nationalism. Because the government wants to drop 1,250 single male asylum seekers — maybe more — on a former MoD site next to Piddington. That’s three or four times the size of the village. Overnight.
Fair enough they’re angry. Scale like that would wreck any small place. Safety, cohesion, schools, GPs, the lot. Anyone with eyes can see it.
What’s harder to swallow is the sudden conversion.
This is Lib Dem country. They voted Lib Dem. Their MP is a Lib Dem. Cherwell council is Lib Dem-run. For years the same people and the same party have told Cornwall, and half the rest of the country, to shut up and take it. Hotels. Dispersal. “Fair share.” “Don’t be racist.” “Just deal with it.”
When it was our doorstep it was compassion. When it’s theirs it’s an emergency and a referendum on independence.
Cornwall is small. A few hundred extra people in the wrong place already throws the balance. Second-homers and city leavers who don’t fit the place already strain housing, wages and services. Dump a camp on top and you don’t get “diversity.” You get a different village. We were told that was fine. We were told to be quiet.
Now Piddington has discovered that numbers matter, that consultation matters, and that a community has a right to say no. Good. They should have that right. So should we. So should every parish that gets treated as a dumping ground because Westminster thinks nobody will fight back.
This is why Restore Britain exists. Not to lecture Oxfordshire. To say the same rule has to apply everywhere. Local people first. No more “shut up and take it” for Cornwall while the Home Counties get to hold a vote when it lands on them.
If Piddington can see it now, the rest of the country already could. The difference is we were never allowed to say it out loud.

A nation that refuses to trust its people with risk cannot expect them to create wealth.
Our aim is to revive British public markets, attract growth firms back to London capital markets, re-engage retail investors, reallocate capital to productive enterprise, and restore some measure of public trust in politics through economic growth.
The decline of high finance in the country that invented it was a choice.
So can our renewal be.
