The Brazilian version of “They Don’t Care About Us” (directed by Spike Lee in 1996) was filmed in the Santa Marta favela in Rio de Janeiro and in Pelourinho in Salvador. The Rio government tried to ban the filming, fearing it would expose poverty to the world. Residents of the favela and the local drug traffickers authorized and protected the set. Michael arrived by helicopter, interacted with the community and children and danced with the Olodum group (a large ensemble of samba-reggae percussionists). The video became a powerful symbol of protest and, according to residents and later accounts, helped draw international attention to the favela and contributed to its visibility and subsequent improvements.

The losing streak is over. Maryland football defeated Purdue, 34-29, on the road Saturday, giving interim coach Aazaar Abdul-Rahim his first victory. Quarterback Malik Washington accounted for four touchdowns and completed 13 of 18 passes for 253 yards, while DeJuan Williams broke free for a 75-yard touchdown run as the Terps ended a 13-game Big Ten losing streak dating to September 2025. With three games remaining against Wisconsin, USC and Penn State, Maryland’s bowl hopes remain alive if the team wins out. Two more victories would also earn Abdul-Rahim a $100,000 contract bonus.

In an awkward transition following Maryland's 34-29 win at Purdue, BTN interviewed jubilant interim coach Aazaar Abdul-Rahim, who then got a Gatorade bath and was carried off the field. Then they cut to the man he replaced, Mike Locksley, at his new gig. 247sports.com/college/maryla…

They carried Aazaar Abdul-Rahim like 75 yards after this. Think they were tired of losing?

Those in-and-out cuts around the five-second mark -you can't teach that. That is a factory setting.

When flirting with a woman, Don’t text her “good morning”, “how are you?” or “have you eaten?” like every other guy in her DMs. Text her this instead:

Instead of “Good morning/How are you?” * How’s my favourite distraction doing? * Look who finally decided to wake up * Morning, trouble. * I hope you woke up in a good mood today. * New day, same fine girl. * I just know you’re still in bed 😂 * Hope your morning is going,

A father’s love for his daughter never ends, even when her time here does. There are no words to describe the heartbreak of losing a child or the emptiness that lasts a lifetime. The years may pass, but the love, the memories, and the longing to have her here with us never fade. If you are able, please consider making a donation to support us as we walk to honor Autumn this Saturday. These donations, no matter how small, help fund life-saving research, suicide prevention education, and support for families who know the unimaginable heartbreak of losing someone they love. Autumn will always be my daughter, our heroic archer. She will always be loved and always be a part of everything I do. afspwalks.donordrive.com/tea…
