The CPS under Starmer, however, made a calculated "legal tactical decision" during the Rochdale Operation SPAN prosecution to indict Amber, who was only 14 at the time, as a pimp without her knowledge. 🚨 REFORM UK COUNCILLOR CHARGED WITH 35 OFFENCES, INCLUDING 12 COUNTS OF RAPE George Madgwick, 37, Reform UK's former Hampshire leader, has been charged with 35 offences involving four victims over a 13-year period. The alleged offences took place between 2008 and 2021 in Portsmouth and Wales. The four victims were aged 16 and 17 at the time. The charges include: • 12 counts of rape • Two counts of assault by penetration • Two counts of sexual assault • Two counts of making indecent images of children • Eight counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm • Two counts of controlling or coercive behaviour He also faces charges of child sexual exploitation, distributing an indecent image of a child, stalking, making threats to kill, false imprisonment, theft and criminal damage. Madgwick, of Anchorage Park, Portsmouth, represents North East Havant on Hampshire County Council and Paulsgrove on Portsmouth City Council. Reform UK confirmed he had been suspended with immediate effect. He is due to appear at Portsmouth Magistrates' Court on 25 November. The charges follow a police investigation launched in July 2025. A Syrian migrant murdered Father Samir Mikhael Daou, a Lebanese Maronite Catholic priest, inside his home in the village of Ain Jrain, north of Beirut, Lebanon. The priest had disappeared on Wednesday afternoon, with his phone last detected in Byblos at approximately 1 p.m. before being switched off. His family eventually discovered his bloodied body on the second floor of a house he owned but did not regularly occupy. The Syrian migrant had accompanied the priest to help harvest olives shortly before his disappearance. The suspected killer fled with Father Daou's vehicle and mobile phone, but he was later arrested.
