Excellent article. Free to read with link below: Adam LeBor These poisonous lies about Zionism need to die Israel is a multiethnic democracy and the Jewish connection to the Holy Land reaches back millennia The lie that Zionism is racism has long outlived its Soviet creators. Zionism is the movement to establish a democratic, non-exclusive Jewish state in the historic homeland of the Jewish people. Do the Greens know that 21 per cent of Israel’s 10.3 million population are Muslim, Christian and Druze Arabs? These minorities in Israel are diplomats, judges on the supreme court, members of the Knesset, military officers, doctors, lawyers, businessmen and women, part of a thriving professional middle class. Sometimes they suffer discrimination. Modern Israel, like every democracy, is a work in progress. But the overwhelming majority of Israeli-Arabs would live nowhere else. Zionism, like socialism, has many currents. Some Zionists even believe in a bi-national Jewish-Arab state. Nowadays a minority of extremists want to see the Palestinians expelled and Biblical-style Jewish sovereignty restored. Neither of them is intrinsic to the ideology. Tony Blair and Josef Stalin were both socialists, but otherwise had nothing in common. The case of Israel/Palestine is not unique. The numbers involved are a fraction of the catastrophic consequences of, for example, the 1947 partition of India and Pakistan: millions were displaced amid widespread massacres and mass rape. Across eastern Europe, millions of ethnic Germans were expelled or fled after 1945. The 1923 Treaty of Lausanne ordered the transfer of more than one million ethnic Greeks from their centuries-old homeland in what became the new Turkish state, and the expulsion of hundreds of thousands of Muslims from Greece to Turkey. There is no talk among Greens of the “ethnonationalist” Greek or Turkish states, even though they were specifically created as such by an international treaty. telegraph.co.uk/gift/18b8357…

“I would be really concerned to lose them.” Prime Minister Andy Burnham on the possibility of Manchester City’s owners selling up. What?! These are owners found guilty of serial breaches of the Premier League rule-book by three judges on an independent commission after a lengthy investigation. Owners who outraged other clubs and countless fans by flouting the rules and inflating sponsorship income with the Disguised Funding Scheme. Owners who misled auditors and regulators, who threaten to bring this Premier League season – and, potentially, future seasons - to a standstill by their appeal, deny, delay tactics. Owners who are patently not proper custodians of a famous, historic club. Owners who many hope will sell up and ship out after bringing such shame and sham contracts to the game. So these are astonishing, alarming comments from the PM. “I do actually thank the City Football Group and the wider ownership for the money that they didn't just put into the Etihad and the campus around it but also into the city," Burnham told the BBC’s Chris Mason. Come on, PM. Read the room. Read the commission’s report. Read the belligerent statements from the Abu Dhabi owners and their chief executive like Ferran Soriano. Rather than thank CFG, perhaps thank the diligence of the Premier League in seeking to enforce its rules and protect the national sport. Perhaps thank the three judges for their pain-staking work in sifting through reams of evidence and coming to their considered conclusion. Burnham spoke as a politician seemingly with one eye on diplomatic and trade links. He spoke as a former mayor whose city benefited from investment in east Manchester by Abu Dhabi. “They've been such a huge partner in the building of modern Manchester and obviously the building of Manchester City into the global force that it is.” And how was that building financed? Burnham spoke as a politician and not the football fan that he truly is. The lifelong Evertonian is usually pretty sound on football matters. He misread the mood of many fans not wanting the possible return of drinking in Premier League stands but that was a rare misstep. This is far worse. This makes him look out of touch with the prevailing mood. He was speaking at Hill Dickinson Stadium. Maybe he should head to Anfield on Sunday week and witness the anger felt towards City. Burnham did add that he wasn’t getting involved in the process and that City had a right to appeal if they felt harshly treated. But how does the PM’s sympathetic words for controversial owners help the independent football regulator charged by Government with leading the fight against those who risk the credibility of their club, who play fast and loose with the rules and who damage the integrity of the national sport? How frustrating if Burnham’s words embolden City's owners and Soriano further. Bit of an own goal by No 10.

“There is a meaning to the word Genocide. It doesn’t come close.” That this even needs to be said shows how much Jew hate has poisoned reason. And yes it’s perfectly legitimate to question Israel’s conduct of the war and wider policies in the West Bank.
Bill Maher just said what many people in Hollywood won’t: “There is NO genocide in Gaza.” Here’s why he says it. Watch the full clip. 👇

AJC vehemently rejects the continued inflammatory statements made by Itamar Ben-Gvir. His calls for Jewish settlement in Gaza and the so-called "voluntary emigration" of Palestinians are irresponsible and disconnected from reality. Ben-Gvir's statements do not reflect the policy of the State of Israel and should be condemned by all who care about Israel's future.

If Israel had lost the 1948 war, where exactly would a Palestinian state have been? Most likely, nowhere. The territory would have been divided between Jordan and Egypt, just as it was before 1967. How do we know? Because the PLO's 1964 Charter explicitly stated that it made no claim to the West Bank, then under Jordanian control, or Gaza, then under Egyptian control. Its focus was on eliminating Jewish sovereignty. Hamas's 1988 Charter was even more explicit. It called for the destruction of Israel and framed the conflict in Islamist terms, but it never presented the creation of a Palestinian state as an objective. Literally no mentioning of a Palestinian state. That's why I believe the core of this conflict has never been simply about building a Palestinian state. It has been about rejecting a Jewish one. Real peace will only become possible when Palestinian leadership and society replaces the goal of destroying Israel with a positive vision for building their own future.

The @BBC's coverage of Khamenei’s funeral has been so reverential, you'd think a respected statesman had died, not a monster who killed 40,000 of his own citizens, hanged gay men and blinded girls who defied his dress code. Our national broadcaster has lost its moral compass.

I am a Zionist. Many people out there don’t seem to understand what a Zionist is - and what it isn’t - so here you go. I believe in the existence of a Jewish home land, Israel, in the land of Judea, where it currently is. As a Zionist, I do not automatically agree with or support everything the country does, nor do I automatically agree with every government, every politician, every decision. As a Zionist, I am free to criticize policies and governments of Israel, just the same as I am to criticize the Canadian government or the American government or any other government. I can believe that the Israelis who spit on Christians should be charged, and I do. I can believe that the violence in Judea and Samaria needs to be stopped, and I do. I can believe that every single Israeli, regardless of religion, who commits rape, should be tried and should face the harshest punishments, and I do. I can believe that every single war crime committed by an Israeli should be prosecuted, and I do. I can believe that Israel should be held to the same standards of every other nation, and I do. The only things I don’t do, because I’m a Zionist? Call for the destruction of the only Jewish nation in the world. Hold them to a far higher standard than everyone else, just because they’re Jewish. Spread false propaganda about them, just because they’re Jewish. Because even though you pretend that’s “antizionism”, it’s just masking your true motives. Jew hatred.
