Here is draft language for the Farm Bill that would legalize cannabis in all 50 states. Stop overthinking it and push your congressmen and senators.
So how does this curse work? If the JMU kid eats the dog shit, is that like an uno reverse on @321nole ?

🦔The Blue Cross Blue Shield Association says insurers paid out nearly $1 billion more than usual from AI-assisted hospital documentation in 2024-2025. Hospitals use AI to scan records and find secondary diagnoses that human reviewers missed. More diagnoses means higher reimbursements. But treatment levels haven't gone up.
BCBSA's SVP of data science said AI is "identifying more billable conditions, not sicker patients." Insurers now deploy their own AI to deny those same claims. Patients pay for both through higher premiums.
My Take
This might be the most American healthcare story I've ever read. Hospitals bought AI to find more things to bill for. Insurers bought AI to deny those bills. The technology cost money on each end and the tab went straight to patients through higher premiums. A billion dollars moved and no one got any healthier. The only thing that changed was the size of the invoices.
Two sides of a trillion-dollar industry found a new tool to fight over the same pool of money and the person in the hospital bed pays for all of it. Premiums go up, denials go up, and the AI vendors collect from everyone. If you want to know who AI works for, stop reading the press releases and look at where the money goes. In healthcare it went straight into the billing department.

If your margin relies on importing cheap labor instead of paying your neighbor’s son a wage to raise a family on, you are a parasite.
You do not have a labor shortage. You have a loyalty deficiency.

The Heritage American debate isn’t just about severing your connection to the American past.
The more sinister idea is that what you do today carries no inheritance forward.
Serve your country. Build something. Sacrifice. Endure. Die for it.
Then be told your descendants have no special claim to your story, no right to take pride in your sacrifice, no deeper connection because of what you gave.
Once you convince a people that inheritance, lineage, and posterity mean nothing, you’ve weakened one of the oldest reasons men sacrifice for a future they’ll never live to see.
That is fertile ground for any system that wants loyalty transferred from family and inheritance to the state.

Dario has written that we need to “pace the frontier,” and Sam has agreed. People may be surprised by my response: go ahead.
You guys are the frontier. By any reasonable metric — market share, revenue growth, model capability — the two of you have a duopoly on frontier intelligence. You’ve also claimed the lead is widening because of recursive self-improvement.
I don’t see what you see in the lab. If the unreleased models are scary enough that you think you should slow down, I support your decision to be responsible.
But stop pretending you need anyone else’s permission. Stop pretending antitrust law has to be suspended so you can form a cartel. Stop pretending you need a regulatory approval process that supersedes product liability. Stop pretending METR is independent when it is intertwined with Anthropic’s investors and staff. Stop pretending you need those same evaluators to police competitors who aren’t even at the frontier.
Most of all, stop pretending the motivation to slow down is purely altruistic. You face massive product-liability exposure if your products enable a truly damaging cyberattack. The market already punishes models that behave in unpredictable or unauthorized ways. After the Hugging Face episode, it is simply good business for OpenAI and Anthropic to trade some raw power for reliability and predictability. Call it alignment if you want. It is also just giving customers what they want.
Pacing the frontier would also create breathing room for a more intelligent conversation about regulation than Bernie Sanders’ “shut it all down.” China is very unlikely to join a global agreement, as you know, and that has to be taken into account as well.
So go ahead and pace the frontier. You are the ones setting it. The easiest way not to build superintelligence is for you to agree not to build it. Demanding your preferred regulatory framework as the price of that will look like blackmail of the public and the political system. So just do it.
If you do, you’ll buy goodwill for the next conversation. If you don’t, we’ll know this was just another bid for regulatory capture — or an election-season psyop.

I’m thinking about banning Claude code at Shopify until they change their mind and read AGENTS.md and .agents/skills etc.
Insisting on only reading CLAUDE.md sometimes leads to split brain problems when different team members use different tools. Just unnecessary.

We cannot let them stay.
Debates regarding illegal immigration often focus on policy issues like welfare, healthcare, crime, economic contribution, etc. That is a distraction.
Democracy is the real issue. Status quo is that any city or state desirous of greater power can declare a suspension of federal law and import millions of illegal aliens for the purpose of inflating their electoral votes and Congressional representation.
Arguments about illegal immigrants voting directly in elections fraudulently usually miss this point. If you offer the political architects of these rebellions a trade, permanent amnesty and residency for all aliens with clear agreement that they cannot be counted for the purposes of electing our President or Congress, they will adamantly refuse.
Why? Because the people pushing this do not want immigrants from socially-conservative countries in Latin America to actually vote. They want to vote on their behalf via census representation, much like reconstruction-era Southern states demanded for newly-freed slaves. Their ideal situation is an urban core of deeply aligned ideologues voting with the power of millions of illegal aliens, currently worth dozens of Congressman and eight states worth of electoral votes.
There is an effectively unlimited supply of poor people from poor countries that want to live in the United States who can be used to fuel this strategy. Some might be net positive to the US economy, some might not be, but that is beside the point - all would equally contribute to a future where minority rules the majority with no recourse.
Rewarding states that refuse to recognize the legitimacy of American law ensures other states will use these same tactics, if only to maintain their own relative power. It will end our republic.

The entire higher education sector is based on the Supreme Court decision Griggs v. Duke Power, which holds that employer practices of testing or assessing the abilities of candidates for hiring or promotion can create liability if they are found to have a disparate racial impact.
As a result, employers use almost no objective metrics to assess potential hires, and instead use signifiers like college degrees to tell which applicants are capable and qualified.
Smart, competent people, especially early in their careers, have no way to demonstrate their ability to employers other than having a credential from a respected college, and mediocre candidates who have been credentialed by these institutions have no fear of being exposed before they are hired.
The problem is that the colleges believe that they actually impart some value on their students beyond giving out pieces of paper that say “everyone who went here probably got around a 1400 on the SAT,” so they thought they could water down their admissions policies and admit more academically marginal candidates for subjective reasons without damaging the hiring prospects of their students.
Now, once prestigious colleges are admitting thousands of students who require remedial math, and it is so bad that even normies who do not pay attention to college admissions are noticing that these schools are churning out stupid graduates who make worthless employees, so the signaling power of the credential is in the toilet and there is no reason to go to college at all anymore.
All we need is for the Supreme Court to overturn Griggs and allow employers to give applicants IQ tests, and most of the smartest people will begin to skip higher education.
