Another shit train service from @CrossCountryUK Despite booking a month ago, I end up with a seat the diametric opposite to what I requested, the airline seats are ergonomically impossible to use a laptop and WiFi that doesnt function. All for a skyhigh fee.... grrrr

Tip top new film by Sirkka-Liisa Konttinen & Peter Roberts about the Staithes of the River Tyne, working with the photographs she took in the early days of the Amber collective. Beautiful! @JakeCampbell85 @DavidPetts1 youtu.be/pE4Ml4XEC98
Hugely disappointed by the suspension of @RachaelMaskell from the @uklabour party. As constituent, I fully support her - and can only seen this as a sign of weakness from an increasingly out of touch and paranoid leadership.
Interested in morris dance history? I just wrote this [Open Access] ‘Ribbon-decked poverty’: costume and performance in South Midlands morris dance tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.…
Very brief return to Twitter: I'm sure I've asked before- but has anyone got a photo I could use for a publication that shows Coll/Tiree from Iona (or at least from Mull) - or indeed any decent 'islandscape' photo taken from Iona. thnx
Given the economic crisis sweeping through the UK HE system I was wondering if @ResEngland has any plans to scale back / reduce costs of the expensive and resource intensive Research Exercise Framework?
Apparently it's my 11th anniversary on Twitter. However, I am no longer actively using this account; this account is now effectively moribund and not regularly monitored. Find me on the same handle on Bsky.

I was thinking the same! Where are the answers?? Christmas is ruined @RadioTimes
I'm always happy to moan about poor customer service- but today we had a problem with our hot water supply - reported it to @BritishGas and had a repair man with us within 40 minutes (on a Sunday morning). Credit where credits due - very impressive

OK- for a teaching thing I'm doing - if you could choose anyone to be commemorated by a blue plaque - who would it be? Where would it be? And why?

"You are too expensive for us to book for a talk!"
No. You haven't properly costed your event, you don't value paying your speakers a viable living wage, and I'm not willing to sell myself short so that you get something for virtually nothing.
Heritage workers deserve payment.

Reform MP James McMurdock was jailed for repeatedly kicking his former girlfriend.
But he told the media it was for ‘pushing’ her when the conviction, which he didn’t publicly disclose before he was elected, emerged.
Quite the story by @GeorgeGreenwood

Hi @LNER
Your shutters are down on your passenger assist meeting and info point at York, at 11am on a weekday.
The totem at the sub-zero temperature Passenger Assist waiting area says to register at the info point.
How?
How does LNER allow this to happen so often? – at Wetherby, England

ALT A seated area with benches, with a prominent banner "Passenger Assist" and various disability symbols on it. Next to it is a totem, partially instructed with a roadwork barrier. Text on totem reads "If you have assistance booked please let us know you've arrived before waiting here by checking in at the information point."
