I'm reading the tweet.... but seeing this...
Oh thank you Andrew, I never realized that. Must have forgotten all the library lessons of my youth. Except... Chrystia Freeland is simply a former finance minister and her book is profiled and a book by a former PM is not. Any half-assed leftist gets promoted, Harper, not.

"Fiscal conservatives" they are not. #OnPoli
This was how Canadian media attacked the Ontario Liberals over the $312B provincial debt… Doug Ford has added $200B to this in 8 years and not a peep.

Is it any wonder Junior was railing against the BOC interest rate hike yesterday? It's going to really impact all that debt (around $500 billion now) which this provincial government has built up over 8 years and done zero to mitigate.
#BREAKING - Red ink Ontario - The provincial deficit is projected to balloon by more than 22% to $16.9 billion, the result of U.S trade war & global economic uncertainty. The government in its economic update is also pushing back plans to balance the books by one year to 2029-30

What's the over/under for the percentage of eligible Toronto voters to participate in today's municipal election?

Not like there’s any areas of the healthcare or education sectors that could use that dough. . .
NEW: The Ford government has broken its own record for ad spending. Internal documents show its advertising bill climbed to more than $117 million last year, according to internal documents — the highest total in a single year in Ontario’s history. A breakdown of how the money was spent in this story by me and @CharliePinkerto: thetrillium.ca/news/governme…

It’s almost like a combination of “Survivor” and “The Apprentice “ 😆
Several Trump administration officials, advisers and close allies describe a toxic mix of jockeying for power and preemptive finger-pointing ahead of the midterms. "It's more brutal than any other situation in modern times in the White House," said one Trump ally. "You can't trust anybody here." cnn.it/4zKoeTc

The usual "ThEy'Re TakIn' ARe JeRbSS!!!!111" folks are all in the comments - not surprising - People don't look past their usual bias (or racist bias) to see why Canada actually NEEDS immigration: 1/5 🧵

This means we need more people working - because when we have people working (legally) they're contributing to CPP, OAS, etc. etc. If we have a low birthrate, and we DON'T have immigration (because "they're takin' our jobs" nonsense) we don't have the support for CPP etc. 4/5

On that day, Canadian forces pushed farther inland than any other; and in some of the bloodiest fighting of the war sustained heavy losses but soldiered on. 4/5

This sums up so much about the courageous Canadian spirit and Europe will always be grateful for the sacrifice of so many who stood with us and defended freedom and democracy. We will never forget." Opening Remarks Roberta Metsola President of the European Parliament /fin
