Exciting news! Series two of Pete Wicks: For Dog’s Sake is back on UKTV’s free-to-air channel U&W tonight at 9pm! 🎉
Pete said: “Filming the first series and following the journeys of these dogs was such a personal and professional career highlight.” 💛

With temperatures set to be high this week, please remember, there is no safe amount of time to leave dogs alone in a car during the hot weather – even a few minutes could prove to be fatal ☀️🚗 Keep your pooches safe, cool and hydrated in the heat!
Could you offer Cassie, a six-year-old Rottweiller cross, her forever home? She has spent more than 1,800 days at Dogs Trust West Calder, earning her the title of “the most overlooked dog” at the shelter. 😭😭😭

Love to hear when an Underdog* finds their forever home.
* Underdogs are dogs who have been in our care for six months, or more.
Another one of our Underdogs, Missi, has been adopted and left for her forever home. 🎉
We LOVE it when someone takes a chance on an #Underdog!
Good Luck Missi. 💛

Happy National Dog Day! 🐾🐾
Meet Honey. She’s my first dog (I wasn’t allowed a dog when I was growing up because my mum was scared of them). I had no idea how much she would turn my life upside down. From those early morning walks to cancelling plans for holidays abroad...
But after 3.5 years together, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I do my best to give her a great life, with lots of long, sniffy walks in different locations. Twice a week, she goes out with a dog walker, which is about the only time she ever barks from sheer excitement.
Beagles are known for being stubborn, and Honey is no exception—though I’m pretty sure she picked that up from me! We’re lucky to have dogs in our lives. 🥰🐶🐾🦴 #NationalDogDay
I’m happy to share that I’ve started a new position as Major Gifts Development Manager - Scotland @DogsTrust today! 🐕🐕🦺🐩🐾
This International Nurses’ Day, as we celebrate Marie Curie Nurses and the expert care they provide across the UK, we'd like to take a moment to thank those who make their vital work possible. Thanks to you, Marie Curie Nurses can be there when it matters most.

1/📢In Scotland a large proportion of people die without some or all of the palliative support they need, despite the fact 90% would benefit from it.
That's why we're launching a campaign for a right to palliative care for everyone living with terminal illness in Scotland 🧵👇

Today, one in four people don't get the end of life care they need. That's simply not good enough. Help ensure everyone gets expert care and support, right to the end. Visit: bit.ly/49MnWyc

This is excellent. How about we match the drive, commitment and investment to make the quality of end of life care the best too? #betterendoflifecare @HumzaYousaf this needs your support! @MarieCurieSCO

The Chancellor said the best way to tackle poverty is through work.
❌ But many people are simply too unwell to work and will die before they're old enough to claim their State Pension. Terminally ill people must be protected from reforms that could force them back to work.

We hoped that today’s #AutumnStatement would help ease the worry for many families affected by terminal illness.
But we’re still waiting. 🧵👇

Are hospices sad places? 🤔 💭
Today is World Hospice and Palliative Care Day and we’re busting some myths about hospice care.
Let us know which myths you'd like us to unpack next 👇 #HospiceCareWeek

ALT Text reads: “Everyone was very friendly and warm, which just made a difference. Georgina had outstanding care at the hospice. She was probably there for a month. The staff were fantastic in making the hospice a lovely space for the family and friends to visit.” Simon’s sister Georgina received care at our Hampstead hospice.

ALT Text reads: “I was floored by the hospice. When Ros was admitted, we were swamped with attention and people offering us cups of tea and checking Ros’ pain and medication. From that point we were just amazed by the staff, how hard they work and what they do.” John's wife Ros received care at our Liverpool hospice.
