Have you ever wondered how seals sleep at sea?
The last chapter of my dissertation, now published in Science, illustrates the intricate sleep-spiraling behavior of northern elephant seals.

A truly special and emotional moment at the Capelin Symposium 2022 (@CSB_2022). A celebration of the amazing contributions of Harald Gjøsæter to capelin research, and mentoring of literally generations of capelin scientists. A true giant of capelin science.

33 days in the egg and ~20 days on the cliff building up to this moment. Full sequence of the Guillemot chick jumping off the cliff to join its dad on the sea for the first time. Must be quite the shock but also a relief to be able to wash itself!
