Restoring Dignity. Strengthening Resilience. Expanding Protection.
Plan and NRC are implementing a 6-month emergency response project targeting to reach 35,800 displaced people across Kampala, Kyangwali, Kyaka II, Rwamwanja, Nakivale, and Oruchinga.
Funded by the East Africa Standby Humanitarian Fund (ESAHF), the project delivers life-saving and protection-focused assistance, including:
🏠 Emergency shelter for most vulnerable
⚖️ Protection and legal aid services
🛡️ Gender-based violence prevention and survivor support
👧 Child protection, mental health and psychosocial support
💵 Multi-purpose cash assistance to help families meet their most urgent needs because every displaced person deserves safety, dignity, and the opportunity to rebuild their lives.

This #WorldRefugeeDay, we celebrate the resilience and potential of girls in crisis.
Cecili, a South Sudanese refugee living in Adjumani, is one of 1,200 girls whose lives have been transformed through the #GirlsInCrisis Project. With livelihood skills and opportunities, she now runs a thriving craft business, supports her family, and is building a brighter future.
When girls are empowered, they can break the cycle of poverty and become agents of change in their communities.

Quick monitoring visit to @PlanUganda's Youth Skilling Hub in Kyangwali Refugee Settlement being constructed with the support of our Plan International Germany Office. This will help refugees receive livelihood skills to help them and their families.
In Nakivale Refugee Settlement, met with Ugandan NGO AWYAD & refugee-led ARD. Their life-saving work for refugees is amazing. The world needs to support more local organizations like them.

#GirlsTakeOver!
This morning, Lucia, Uganda, a girl child advocate from Westnile region, has taken over #IrisBloom the Head of Sub Office UNHCR Adjumani for a day to commemorate the International Day of Girl child and raise a voice on behalf of girls in Westnile region in Uganda to call upon stakeholders to join the campaign to #EndChildMarriage
Taking over such a position empowers girls to dream big and build their confidence to take up leaders an inspiration for them to stay in school and achieve their dreams.

“It is not remotely humanitarian” - Plan International fully rejects plans for a camp in #Gaza. The forcible transfer of a population is illegal. We need a #CeasefireNOW, not a detention camp. plan-international.org/news/…

A girl growing up today risks having fewer rights than her mother, and in some cases, even her grandmother. The time for change is now⏰
Displaced by conflict, young mother Cecili gained skills and purpose in Uganda. Through skills training and educational opportunities, she found renewed hope and purpose. Help girls build brighter futures.
