President Trump is heading into the midterms with poll numbers in the gutter, and consumer prices in the stratosphere. All of this could have, and should have, been avoided. The deal with tariffs is that U.S. automakers need to pledge to do capital investment and compete with quality Chinese EVs. Instead they are using tariff room to gouge consumers and pay Wall Street. That’s not sustainable long-term. This is well understood. GM insiders *know* they are destroying the auto industry. Unions know it. Everyone knows. We must destroy Wall Street or we won’t have any industries left.
