This is an incredible way to cope after losing a historic referendum.
Albertans chose Canada. It wasn't Ottawa that did that. It wasn't Carney or Trudeau or "the Laurentian elite."

Last night, there was an NHL, regular season game.
It featured the Toronto Maple Leafs and a new team that had never laced up together, before.
Toronto beat them, 3-1.
The players in Toronto's locker room didn't celebrate- while spirits were high across the hall (in the losing team's locker room).
Though this is a recorded regulation win for Toronto, the real ones know... a new team that put points on the board against an established NHL dynasty is going to be a leader in their space.
That's what we are. Potential.
It's up to us what we want to do with it. A quarter of the votes is no small amount.
Well done, Independence.

We got our first peak into what the ridings could be for next Alberta election today. NDP says hybrid ridings in Calgary and Lethbridge are on the way, tipping scales in UCP way.
Smith didnโt address the NDPโs criticisms, but admonished them for speaking on it before Monday.๐๐๐ป

Well, an admission here from the premier's chief of staff that redrawing the electoral map is, at least partially, to "level the playing field" with the NDP seems notable.
Total garbage. @DonBraid is literally just regurgitating exactly what is NDP buddies are telling him. Would be nice if he represented both sides of an issue for once.
One of the most respected court of appeal justices in Alberta history is chairing the boundary committee. Itโs a lie to say that itโs the UCP. The maps arenโt even available yet (though clearly leaked to the NDP by someone).
In addition, Judge Miller and half the NDP caucus complained that there should be 2 additional seats added to account for population growth. So that was done and left to the independent judge-led committee to figure out how to do it. I assume they have done so.
Further, last election the NDP lost the popular vote by almost 10 percent and still almost ended up winning the most seats. So obviously they donโt want any change whatsoever that could level the playing field.
How do you explain that Don? Did the NDP gerrymander the map last go around under Notley? Was the 2023 election undemocratic too?
The UCP isnโt making that claim because itโs disrespectful of the people - including the judge - who did the hard work of determining those past boundaries.
Your bias is so clear Don. Itโs disturbing.

Because it overlaps with a CRIMINAL investigation!
1. The bias free, reality based resources happen to support trans people & their identities.
2. Trans people, regardless of their genitals, should have access to facilities that match their gender identity.

When an ideology based on something called "queer theory" supersedes the Canadian Charter of Rights & Freedoms in our everyday lives, how do we not demand answers?
What's next? Asking elected officials.
1. Where are the bias free, reality based, resources for Alberta families with kids caught up in gender ideology? @ABDanielleSmith
2. Do you support fully intact men showering in women's changing rooms like what is happening in @CityofEdmonton pools? Ask them why they think that is ok.
3. Tell them you will vote on these issues.

On CBC, Smith stopped short of saying that she will disqualify separatist candidates or refuse to sign their applications...
But she made it clear that no separatists will be welcome in leadership or official roles and a pledge must be signed.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Canadians love - want to be governed.
There is such a dependency on the state.
In the Alberta referendum, majority of voters voted to keep the unelected senate. They voted for unelected people to have legislative powers over them.
They literally voted against a democratic choice thus they voted against a democracy.
You couldn't even begin to convince an American that unelected people should have powers over them before you get thrown out.
The average Canadian supports basic dictatorship.

I will die on this hill: The government is not the boss of reporters.
The "question limit" is a COVID hangover. If politicians don't want reporters repeating questions after the "limit" they imposed to avoid pushback, they should answer them the first time.

The choice is making reporters line up at a physical mic stand - in a room that is already mic'd up - and limiting to 2 questions, rather than fielding questions scrum-style, like politicians did prior to COVID.
Danielle Smith is scared of her own separatist UCP members.
This article confirms it. She knows her party is fractured, & separatists are going to try & fully take over the party.
