A diagnosis of diabetes isn't a reason to give up on improving your health. Physical activity, nutrition, sleep and appropriate medical treatment can all contribute to management. But don't stop prescribed medication or promise yourself a cure based on a social-media post. Work with your healthcare team and build habits you can sustain.

While many athletes take creatine to boost performance, endurance and recovery, the benefits of creatine go well beyond just adding muscle. It’s got the potential to be a powerful anti-aging and longevity ally, enhancing everything from bone density to cognitive function.

Everything starts with a mindset shift. The most successful patients reach a point where they’re genuinely ready to change. They stop looking for shortcuts, quick fixes, and the next miracle solution. They make a commitment to the process, even when it’s uncomfortable or inconvenient.

The strategy focuses on 3 things: 1. Reduce the body’s need for insulin. 2. Improve insulin sensitivity. 3. Increase the body’s capacity to take up and use glucose. Nutrition, body fat, and muscle are central to all three.

The goal is not to prove you can do everything. It’s to build the capability to handle whatever comes your way.

People underestimate WALKING because it looks EASY. It doesn’t require a GYM. It doesn’t destroy your KNEES. It doesn’t require a REST day. 6-10K daily STEPS adds up. Not everything that WORKS has to feel HARD.

Four weeks of wall squats reduced systolic blood pressure by nearly 10 points in adults with high blood pressure. Researchers then compared continuing three sessions weekly with reducing to two, one, or none for another month. Systolic pressure remained roughly 7 mmHg below starting levels in the once- and twice-weekly groups. Continuing three sessions weekly produced the greatest reduction of about 14 mmHg. In those who stopped completely, blood pressure moved back toward baseline. This fits with a previous analysis of randomized trials that identified isometric exercise, which involves holding a muscle contraction, as an effective way to lower resting blood pressure. What interests me is the practical question - how much of an exercise benefit can we preserve when we temporarily have less time? This study suggests that reducing the frequency can retain part of the benefit for up to a month.

Recent research has discovered that a particular hormone generated by bone, osteocalcin, plays a key role communicating with the rest of the body, helping to regulate muscular, metabolic and even cognitive health. So, preserving bone density is its own kind of anti-aging program

6 symptoms connected to perimenopause you probably didn't know: 1) Unexplained Joint Aches: Estrogen lubricates joints; dropping levels cause stiff, sore shoulders, knees, and hands. 2) Sudden Heart Palpitations: Fluctuation in estrogen triggers temporary autonomic nervous system spikes. 3) Burning Mouth or Dry Eyes: Loss of estrogen affects mucous membranes across the entire body. 4) Increased Anxiety & Rage: Progesterone drops faster than estrogen initially, reducing brain-calming GABA signals. 5) Recurrent UTIs: Genitourinary Syndrome of Menopause (GSM) weakens bladder and urethral tissue linings. 6) Changes in Body Odor: Changing hormone ratios alter sweat gland composition and skin bacteria. #PerimenopauseSymptoms #MenopauseAwareness #WomenHealthOver40

Could More Hugging Help Us Build New Friendships? buff.ly/WYXEmuE Hugs can be a powerful way to communicate positive emotions. A new field study investigated whether a hug increased social interest. Volunteers who received a hug were more likely to look at a set of fake vacation pictures by the experimenter. Thus, hugging did increase social interest in the study.
