The ongoing scrutiny of records provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the evacuation of Ghanaians from South Africa highlights the importance of disclosure if we are to make any serious progress in our accountability journey.
This should be the bare minimum. You use public funds to carry out activities, you disclose the details publicly, and you let the public scrutinise them.
We hope the authorities don’t use the level of scrutiny as an excuse to stop disclosing information.
If there’s nothing to hide, disclose the information and face the scrutiny.
