Rain and dropping temperatures have arrived in Gaza. For families living in tents, winter makes an already difficult situation harder: soaked bedding, flooded ground, and no safe way to cook. Across our network of Palestinian-led kitchens, WCK teams are cooking through it, working to make sure the most vulnerable families can count on a hot meal. #ChefsForGaza

I agree that Democrats should do this, but a lot of people are living in a joyous delusion about who and what Democrats are. They're still the party of Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries. They're not going to get to work re-establishment free speech rights of students to protest:
Democrats should do the Stefanik college president hearings in reverse. Get college presidents on the record saying that students have the right to peacefully protest and to say controversial--even offensive-- things. Get them on the record that scholars should not punished for their views and that universities will protect foreign students targeted for their views. Demand that the last three years of McCarthyism and cowardice end now.

Last night saw some of the greatest progressive victories in modern American history. All across the country, in rural and urban areas, Americans said NO to oligarchy, and YES to an agenda that fights for the working class. Congratulations to the following candidates: U.S. SENATE Abdul El-Sayed (MI) Peggy Flanagan (MN) Troy Jackson (ME) U.S. HOUSE Bob Brooks (PA-7) Rebecca Cooke (WI-3) Sam Forstag (MT-1) Adam Hamawy (NJ-12) Melat Kiros (CO-1) Brad Lander (NY-10) Will Lawrence (MI-7) Donavan McKinney (MI-13) Brian Poindexter (OH-7) Analilia Mejía (NJ-11) Claire Valdez (NY-07) Randy Villegas (CA-22) Aisha Wahab (CA-14)

The Democrats may have taken control of the House and the Senate, they may have humiliated Donald Trump and the Republican Party, but the real fight is only beginning. It is not simply a battle to hold the corrupt Trump regime to account, something that can only be done if the Democrats are willing overcome their reluctance to carry out impeachment proceedings against the president. It is also a battle to sweep away the corporate-indentured hierarchy of the Democratic Party, including Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries. The Democratic Party since the presidency of Bill Clinton, who gave us the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), the greatest betrayal of the working class since the 1947 Taft-Hartley Act, and gutted New Deal-era welfare programs such as the Aid to Families with Dependent Children, is a more polished version of corporate and oligarchic rule, abjectly subservient to the war machine, the Israel lobby and their funders in the billionaire class. The country is broken. Corruption, in both parties, is endemic. Federal agencies have been hollowed out and destroyed. The courts, including the Supreme Court, have been handed over to right-wing ideologues. The working class is crippled with debt peonage and substandard wages. Constitutional norms and protections have been erased. Billionaires, including Trump, pay little to no income tax. The 2010 Citizens United Supreme Court ruling, which allows big business to fund their hand-picked candidates, sustains a system of legalized bribery. The public may clamor for a raise in the minimum wage, Medicare for All, regulation of the big banks and private equity firms, an end to arms shipments to Israel and campaign finance reform, but no one in the leadership of the Democratic Party listens or cares. They serve their paymasters. Will cutthroat capitalism, sold to us under the sanitized name of neoliberalism, be allowed to continue to impoverish the citizenry and funnel wealth upwards into the hands of the 1 percent? Will corporations be regulated and policed? Will corporate criminals be brought to trial? Will our democracy be restored? Or will the grotesque sight of a trillionaire, Elon Musk, gutting federal agencies and pouring hundreds of millions into elections to try and control the outcome be normalized? The handful of politicians who attempt to confront the corruption and the devastation visited on the American working class through deindustrialization and deregulation, such as Bernie Sanders, see their campaigns sabotaged by the Democratic Party leadership, including Barack Obama. We must demand that progressive candidates, including Michigan senator-elect Abdul El-Sayed and Maine’s Troy Jackson, build coalitions to oust the Democratic Party leadership, raise the minimum wage, enact universal health care, prosecute corporate crime and impeach Trump. It will be up to us. The Democratic Party hierarchy will see the results not as a repudiation of Trump, but an endorsement of the flaccid and ineffectual position of a party that stands for little and fights for less. This would be yet another betrayal by the Democrats of voters. It would keep alive the very real prospect of another fascist, one better organized and more intelligent, taking the White House in two years. Of course, this fight will mean not only jettisoning a corrupt Democratic Party leadership, but turning on the mega-donors, lobbyists and corporations that fund and control the Democratic Party. The effort to wrest the party back from the hands of corporations and oligarchs will be vicious and difficult. It will require us to rely on the power of mass movements to sever these bonds. Nothing else will work. If we fail, our anemic democracy will not be saved by these midterm elections, but doomed.

Last night, voters in Chicago and across the country spoke in one resounding voice. From Texas to Michigan, from North Lawndale to Rogers Park, their message was unmistakable: working people want leaders who put humanity and care ahead of corporate interests. Democrats do not need to acquiesce to the interests of corporations and the far right who try to drag our country backwards. We have a mandate to stand up, fight back, and deliver for working people. I want to congratulate Gov. Pritzker and Lt. Gov.-elect Christian Mitchell on their victory, Senator-elect Julianna Stratton on her historic win, and the many newly elected Democratic leaders across our city and country. These victories are a testament to the power that comes from standing together to resist authoritarianism. But they are also just the beginning. They are also a call to action. – at Chicago, IL

"It's all for the sake of Palestine." As most of the Palestinian diaspora are busy showing off in restaurants, parties, and on trips, Palestinians in Gaza have been sacrificing everything for Palestine for three years.
A kindergarten bombed. We repeat, a kindergarten was bombed in Gaza. Yesterday, on October 30th, the Saftawi area in Western Gaza City, the military occupation bombed a school building. This also impacted many Palestinians tents and homes. Emergency response needed: chuffed.org/project/113222-t… Families in the area lost everything yet their faith in God and his decree remain unshakeable. But no human on earth should tolerate this unfathomable level of loss, over and over again. The Sameer Project is looking to help some of the families affected with your support. We are hoping to get mattresses and blankets for families that lost all of their belongings. The insanity of families still being bombed when the international media is depicting a “ceasefire” is clear. It is our duty to rise and demand an end to the genocide. Support our General Fund to help families impacted by the ongoing bombings: chuffed.org/project/113222-t…
